THE BEST WAY TO FIND A LIFE PARTNER

In our Sunday School class on Sunday last week, our lesson's topic was " Marriage".

During the course of discussion, an announcement was made that a brother in our midst would be conducting wedding by month end. We all jubilated and congratulated him.

Amidst the jubilation, the teacher asked the brother to tell the class how he found his wife. Everyone's ear stood attention and I in particular brought out my pen and paper to put down something.

Then, the brother stood and narrated how it happened. According to him, he said that it all started last year(that was 2017) when he was on a 31 days program(fasting, prayers with vigil). During the course of the program, he prayed concerning a life partner.

Still on the program he had a dream, a sister came and gave him an envelop. When he opened it he saw a wedding invitation. The sister was inviting him to her wedding. He didn't receive the news well thus he protested to her that he was the one that supposed to marry her but she apologized and left.

He was confused, consequently, he prayed concerning the dream and he received a ministration that the sister was his wife. Hence, their traditional marriage and white wedding is about to be conducted come this month end.

After him, another brother stood up and narrated how he got to meet with his wife. According to him, he said, when he wanted to get married, he prayed about it and in his dreams(during the course of his prayers) one lady he didn't know from Adam kept appearing to him. This continued until one day, he came across the lady, and today they are happily married.

Listen, the best way to find a life partner is by Prayer, by asking God to lead you to show you who the person is, to direct you to His will for your life. It is not by dating. Proverbs 3:6 says in everything you do you should acknowledge God and He'll direct you.

God is the Perfect Match Maker. As a matter of fact, the Bible says a good wife or husband comes from Him(Proverbs 19:14). So, how do you intend to find a good life partner without engaging God?

These two brothers have one thing in common: none of them dated. Prior to their marriage, they weren't in any relationship. Dating is not the right way to find a good wife or husband. These brothers go about their businesses and careers while praying for a life partner.

Dating is the process many people follow to find a life partner. It has really done more harm than good. It's a trial and error process. Many have found their life partner through that but how many of these marriages survived on the long run? It is a Western idea, now look at Westerners and their marriages!

When it comes to the issue of choosing a life partner, don't depend on your knowledge or understanding, don't choose her or him because she is beautiful or he's handsome, has figure 8 or 6 packs, GO TO GOD IN PRAYERS!

The person you're dating right now, do you think you really know the person? People pretend a lot while dating, they claim to be what they are not. You can't really know the person, the number of years you both have dated notwithstanding.

Remember, I didn't say there are no other ways you can find a life partner, there are. But I'm emphatically and strongly saying that prayer is the best way. It saves you wastage of unnecessary time, energy and resources. It prevents you from stories that touch. It keeps you from falling into immortality etc.

Before God will bring anyone to you, He considers many things, your personality, purpose etc., thus He'll bring someone that's compatible, suitable to you. Someone that complements you. He knows the person in and out. He knows the best.


But before prayer, there is something you must do if you want God to listen to your prayers. You must have a relationship with Him. You must be His child before He will listen to your case. The prayer of a sinner is an abomination before God. So, before you pray make sure you have a relationship with God.

Repent from your sins, confess them, forsake them and accept Jesus as your Personal Lord and Saviour. This is how to start.
