Pancakes

A newly discovered demo version of the classic song Pancakes by the marvelous R&B singer Marvin Pontiac, which he co-wrote with Leonard Cohen when they were on a spiritual retreat at Mount Baldy.

Marvin and Leonard had a violent disagreement over the instrumentation to be used in the song, Leonard under the influence of Zen wanted it to be sparse and lean, ephemeral with a mystical tinge, whereas Marvin true to his R&B roots wanted it to be fat ass sexy , by adding blues harmonica for colour.
