Simplifying
Y + 2 = y

Reorder the terms:
2 + Y = y

Solving
2 + Y = y

Solving for variable 'Y'.

Move all terms containing Y to the left, all other terms to the right.

Add '-2' to each side of the equation.
2 + -2 + Y = -2 + y

Combine like terms: 2 + -2 = 0
0 + Y = -2 + y
Y = -2 + y

Simplifying
Y = -2 + y

Sort:

I know that solution but it doesn't work when the 'y' terms are both lower case. Only works for one 'y' and one 'Y' as in Y + 2 = y. So your answer is wrong. The problem given is y+2 = y
