While strolling down the beach within the South Padre Island reserve area, I found this discarded leaded-glass TV. The copper was stripped as that was the only valuable component, the rest is a hazard and liability to anyone managing it. This is what we end up when manufacturers design products using hazardous materials or incorporate planned obsolescence into their goods, illegally dumped material.
Producers should be responsible for their consumer goods which includes end-of-life management.
