how questns were asked and how answers are interpreted can mean everything. This statistic is a lie, like the assertion "people can't find the US on a world map".

In the later case, random people were asked to find the US, but each person had to produce the world map! If they didn't have one, the survey marked them as "unable to find the US". The survey was conducted by a company that sold geography text books.
