"Unraveling the Mental Chaos: The Pitfalls of Excessive Beauty Standards"

in #mental3 months ago

People these days have immersed themselves in the so-called beauty standards, skin care, hair care, this care and that care that it's no more any care but rather used in an ironic way.

The beauty standards have evolved with time but each time it's troubling, creating a sense of dissatisfaction in one person or another. So, the question arises who is setting these standards? Isn't it just an ideal image created in one's mind that can't be naturally found in a person? It's just that one thing which you can't have or do not have that creates this chaos. The spread of this ideal image has come out of the mind and taken the shape of photoshopped/ filtered celebrities.

Okayy! Rich, elite and aristocratic people can have it their way but what about the unhappiness with their own being and the existence it creates in a middle class and poor person? Even if one has obtained it, the media and fashion industry won't just stop here. It would keep increasing till a time comes when humans would probably appear as zombies cause that's what the elites and celebrities do!

Slowly and gradually the spread of these unachievable beauty standards have taken a toll on people's minds and this is one of the biggest reasons why no one's actually happy because there is constant comparison battling in their minds.

Everyone's beautiful because every single individual is unique in their own way. This comparison with the not haves is also the reason why people are anxious, depressed and suffering from mental disorders because it's all an interplay of images.

One of the most effective ways of overcoming this destruction is gratefulness and acceptance of who you are and what you are and the rest will fall into place.

So, sit for a while and write down your blessings and during this process you will eventually realize you are much more blessed and beautiful in your own way than you ever thought!
