Odd ways to fix your brain.

in #mental7 years ago

Just some things that have helped me improve mentally, let me know if you have tried any of these.

HANDSTANDS: feels good when you stand back up again.
LEARN HOW TO CRY IF YOU FORGOT HOW: It is possible, be kind, be patient with yourself. Difficult but free.
CRYING: feels good to let it out, embrace fear and sadness.
COLD SHOWER: Good for your skin and hair, significantly alters your state of mind instantly, 1 minute a day for mental resilience.
HOLD ICECUBES: Can ground you to the present by shifting your focus from racing thoughts to your numb hands.
ASMR: People doing odd things with objects in front of stereo microphones on youtube, helps you hit your REM cycle.
TDCS: Low current DC electricity across brain, it does work in my experience, you will look crazy if someone sees you :)
CBD:THC 1:1 RATIO : Can help shift your perspective to a happier one, higher ratio of CBD to THC if bad reaction.
EMDR Therapy: Have not tried. There have been people with significant emotional trauma that have improved.
EMDR youtube: Free, Dampens the effect of past negative experiences by mimicking your REM sleep cycle while awake.
DEEP SLEEP: putting yourself in a deep sleep by doing some of the above especially ASMR, relaxation before bed so you fall asleep faster and go deeper.
BE HONEST: Say what you feel, be authentic as possible about your experience, work through past trauma with someone who is kind and compassionate. Really compassionate people have usually been through emotional adversity too, if no one is open to talking to you leave where you are.
DON'T STAY A VICTIM: Even if you are the victim at the time, don't stay that way, you are stronger than you think.
FEEL WHAT YOU TOUCH: Concentrate on the texture of objects you touch, wiggle your toes.
POST SOMETHING YOU THINK IS COOL ON STEEMIT: Being actively engaged in a meaningful way and trying to post things that are authentic and useful.
