Thunderstorms
Thunderstorms
Pound against my window pane,
the monster’s trying to get in.
I hold tight to my pillow,
Blankets over my head,
For today is not the day.
They shall not render me dead.
You can knock all you want.
Pound even harder as you near.
I will not allow you to steal
What I’ve worked so hard to achieve.
As the rain falls so hard,
I can hardly see out my window.
The thunder clashes,
The lightening strikes.
There, you’re silhouette,
In the field behind the house.
Walking my way,
I’m not scared, ready to fight.
Bring on your fury
Being unfrightened
I stand my ground.
Watching you roar
Harder and harder
Only you are let down yet again
My faith is high above you tonight.
