Has mental health therapy lost its stigma?

in #mentalhealth8 years ago

There are many issues one may pick up from our parents that could continue to hound you throughout your life if you are not raised in a 'healthy environment' or if there is no attachment made to one or both parents. The terminology is 'reactive attachment disorder', or you may have been raised by a narcissist which almost always leaves scars on the children.

Mental health therapy has made great strides in addressing these type of issues that affect so many and countless others that refuse to accept they've been affected. It's a powerful tool in the hands of a skilled professional and shouldn't be something to be ashamed of. I had a stroke that robbed me of the ability to care for myself and family at the lifestyle we were accustomed to. Mental health therapy helped me to regain my balance and even helped to cure some of the ills from the past.

Hi! This post has a Flesch-Kincaid grade level of 10.9 and reading ease of 64%. This puts the writing level on par with Michael Crichton and Mitt Romney.

Interesting, if accurate.
