El Barcelona buscará, en 2020, sellar un nuevo y último contrato para unir a Messi al Barcelona
Con el paso del tiempo, y gracias a noches que quedarán marcadas en la historia del club, Lionel Messi se transformó en el mejor jugador de la historia del Barcelona. Y Josep Maria Bartomeu, titular de la institución de Cataluña, lo sabe. Por eso está decidido a ofrecerle al astro argentino que se retire vestido de blaugrana.
"Es un hombre de un solo club. Creo que su trayectoria en el Barcelona va más allá de su fútbol. Su relación con el club seguirá por siempre, por eso creo que es un jugador de un solo club", dijo el presidente del Barcelona en una entrevista que le concedió a ESPN.
"Nos gustaría renovarle. Todavía le quedan dos temporadas más con contrato, pero deseamos hacerlo. Es joven, y lo veo cómo innova con su juego, su forma de actuar. Por eso pienso que le quedan muchos años en el fútbol todavía", agregó el mandamás de la institución que se ha convertido en gran protagonista del fútbol europeo.
Con 31 años, el 10 del conjunto catalán es el hombre fuerte del equipo. Con el retiro de Xavi, sumado a la partida de Andrés Iniesta, la cara que se refleja en el espejo del Barcelona es Messi, y solo Messi. Piqué, Sergio Busquets y Jordi Alba, entre los españoles, sumado al goleador y amigo personal de Leo, Luis Suárez, completan una columna vertebral a la que se le agrega el arquero alemán Ter Stegen.
