Guanajuato, the city that makes you travel into the past

Hello Steemians, I wanted to share two pictures of the last time I visited the colonial city of Guanajuato. It is located in a region known as "Bajío" in the homonymous state in Mexico. The town was founded in 1546 by the order of Antonio de Mendoza, viceroy at the time in New Spain. The city was known during the viceroyalty of the New Spain for its silver mines.

On the top right of the photo, the "University of Guanajuato" building can be seen.

In the next one, the main view is the Basilica of Our Lady of Guanajuato, which began construction in 1671.
