Happiness is neither a birth right , not something to be earned. It's an outlook towards life. It is a decision that you make for yourself , and which change your outlook accordingly.

What matters, then? If “happiness” isn’t what we ought to be seeking, what takes its place in this alternate universe of thinking about life? . The argument is that if you put authenticity at the top of your shopping list, instead of happiness or success, or love, or redemption, or confidence, or whatever it is that you’re seeking , then things at least have a decent chance of going well, because authenticity provides the navigational signals that prevent those other values from digging their own hole and crawling into some dark place.
