Hello friends, I would like to write this article about “Indian IT companies H-1B visas” in very simple words.
About H-1B visas: - H-1B Visa is a non-immigrant visa, which is used by outsiders of USA who are looking employment need. This visa is for United State employers to employ foreign nationals in specialty occupation for certain period of time.
Eligibility Criteria:-
Have bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
Have 12 years work exp. It can be mix of further education and work exp.
Have the ability of work in specialty occupation and you are qualified to perform the services.
Have labour conditional agreements issued by Department of labour that concerns the terms and conditions of its contract of employment with you.
Recent News about H-1B Visa for INDIAN IT companies:-
Nasscom’s executives suggest that tightening of H-1B rules have not had a significant impact on Indian IT industry. They also said that the biggest takers of H-1B are the top US giants, and they are also the top-spenders on R&D. “And that tells you why they are coming to India to take the people – because they need the talent,” , While the majority of the H-1B visas go to Indians, these employees are largely hired by US companies. They say, of the 65,000 visas available each year, less than 8,500 go to Indian companies. The visa intake has gone down by about 43% in the past two years.
Nasscom’s executives state that there is a huge shortage of right-skilled talent in the world today, So that they are doing following work in a strategic planned manner:-
They have been launched at the leadership programme in Hyderabad in February 2018 for skill development. Their target in phase 1 is, how do us re-skill and up-skill 2 million of the 4 million people in IT in India. They are trying to work with state governments, the Central government, and the industry to make this happen.
They will focus on opportunities to create new jobs.
They has identified how many job roles the 9 new technologies will create, As a nation they are focus back on where will the new jobs created and what skills are they going to need and how get people ready for it.
They are looking at different metrics to assess the progress of the industry, given the technology changes happening.
