The era of Web Series

                   In TV and movies, there is a lot of censorship like obscenity, nudity and several other filters. Many people want to see the content with full freedom, with the slangs or abuses used in daily life, and the scenes that will not be shown in a normal movie, and if they are shown, they will be blurred, or removed from the actual movie, which we term as adult content. Especially in India, there are some hot scenes and abuses in movies, including some kissing scenes, but a lot of them are removed or edited by the censor board. A daring film maker Ram Gopal Verma, who has made some classic movies loosely based on the underworld, once said that due to many reasons, he could not tell the actual, raw story of the underworld in Bollywood movies, so he decided to make a web series which will tell the actual story in its original form. 
                 Once I was surfing the net and when I got to know about that web series, then I came to know that this market of online movies and TV shows also do exist and is gaining popularity slowly. RGV's trailer of his upcoming web series itself contains lot of such content, which can not be shown on TV or in traditional movies. Anurag Kashyap is also one such producer/director, who likes to experiment and has made some movies earlier too, with a different content.  His web series 'Sacred Games' on netflix has become quite popular, with the abuses, the adult content, and great performances by Nawazuddin and Saif Ali Khan.
                  Viewers are actually enjoying watching the 'restricted content' with 'no restriction' in such type of web series, because they want to see something different. Most people are tired of watching the usual romantic drama, with songs, which appear fictional, with sometimes over-acting, and some scenes termed as 'steamy' though it's nothing hot in it. The platforms like netflix, amazon prime are gaining popularity now, with a nominal monthly fee, and freedom to watch your favorite uncensored content. Whether it will replace the normal TV shows/movies or not, is a topic of debate, but I feel that paying 300/- or more for a shitty movie will not work in the long run, when after 2-3 months, you may watch that  movie in some TV channel too, rather one may take a subscription of the online channels and watch some interesting, different content.
