HOW TO CALCULATE DIFFICULT PERCETNAGE OF ANY NUMBER WITHIN SECONDS WITHOUT USING PEN AND PAPER

After my introduction here is my first blog about a useful trick on how you can calculate percentage of numbers in easy way.

For this we have to first understand what percent is so where we go-

Meaning of Per is - Every/Each

Meaning of cent is - 100

Lets take an example and understand it-

A student scores 30 marks out of a maximum possible 50 marks. His marks can we then denoted as 30 out of 50. The process for getting this is perfectly illustrated as :-

Marks scored                        Out of 
    30              out of             50

Now we need to find if this student give exam out of 100 how much he/she will score ?

          X                 out of                    100

So X will be 60 because in first statement student scored 30 in 50 so he will score 60 in 100 it means he score 60 in every 100. So we can say that his percent score is 60%.

I hope you would have now understood what percentage is - Simply its "what is out of 100"

Now come to the main point how to calculate percent faster-

For this we have to put decimals in numbers and we get the desired percent value of that number.

Let's understand with examples:

(1) Calculate 47% of 250.

Now to get it we will break it and solve it -

A. Calculate 10% first which can we get directly by putting decimal after unit digit

     10%       of      250      is   25.0----------Fact (1)

Now see what is maximum number which is dividable by 10 completely ,in our case it would be 40 ...

So 40 = 10 X 4
hence 40% of 250 = (10% of 250 )X 4
40% of 250 = 25.0 X 4 ------ -------Using fact(1)
40% of 250 = 100 ------------------ (Fact 2)

Now we will calculate 7 % of 250 for this we will find 1% of 250 and then multiply it by 7 to get 7% -
.
1% of any number can be find by putting decimal after 10s digit.

Now 1% of 250 = 2.50
7% of 250 = (1% of 250 )X 7
= 250 X 7
= 17.5----------------Fact(3)

Finally 47% of 250 = 40% of 250 (Fact (2) + 7% of 250 (Fact(3)
= 100 + 17.5
= 117.5

Another Example - (Lets do it quickly)

(1) Calculate 36% of 125

10% of 125 = 12.5----------------Fact(1)
30% of 125 = (10% of 125)X 3
= 12.5 X 3
= 37.5-----------------Fact(2)

1% of 125 = 1.25
6% of 125 = (1% of 125) X 6 = 7.5 -------Fact(3)
Now finally

36% of 125 = 30% of 125 + 6% of 125
= 37.5 + 7.5 = 45.0
