RE: Future Of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
I kinda disagree with the fact that AI will let us keep power.
Evolution has shown us that human intelligence, overall, has increased. But we have limitations. By building a helper, at certain point, the trainee will overcome the master.
The problem with Ai is that we don't understand it fully and I am talking here about the blackbox concept in ML. You really don't know what happens inside of an algorithm.
And Google has proven that if you let computers speak, they will develop their own language at a rapid pace.
Of course, you can argue that you can just unplug them. But with the rise of green energy, be sure that at certain point in time, computers will be fully autonomous and we won't have what to do about it.
At that point, we will be the ones enslaved.
Another point is the one that many know but don't want to make it mainstream: Ai is killing the job industry.
As a Data Scientist, I know that my role will became obsolete at some point. I can see that Ai improves our lives in the sense that if offers more and better tools to automate boring tasks but that also reduces the number of jobs. And that will be a big problem if we continue to grow at the rate that we are (unless we are wiped out ).
Unless we can come up with a model that will sustain each human being, in a fair manner (btw, this will never happen, mostly because of our greed), we, as a race, are near our pinnacle. And when Ai comes up for good, we will fall hard.
