Micromax-Dual-4-ZTE-Blade-V8.png year back, Micromax unveiled its new logo along with the tagline “Nuts – Guts – Glory”. After that, the company hasn’t been that active in the Indian smartphone market. During this same period, the Chinese brands like OPPO and Vivo went to the every nook and corner of the country by marketing their brands offline. However, the company recently launched its most expensive smartphone, the Micromax Dual 5 in India that was praised for its premium build quality and advanced software features though it was actually the same 360 Q5 that was launched in China in 2016. Micromax hasn’t even changed the OS, instead, the device came with the English version of the 360 OS which we had seen on the 360 Q5. The device is currently retailing at Rs. 24,999 exclusively through Flipkart, while the original device was launched at much lower price.
Now, we have received an exclusive tip about the upcoming smartphone in the New Dual series called Micromax Dual 4. Just like the Dual 5, the upcoming Dual 4 is also rebranded variant of a Chinese smartphone. This time, the company brought the ZTE Blade V8 to the Indian market as Micromax Dual 4. While the Micromax Dual 5 came with 360 OS, the upcoming Dual 4 might be running on the ZTE’s MiFlavor UI. We can also find the Mi Pop feature that adds the virtual home button for one-hand usage. While the pricing and availability the device aren’t known, it will be sold through both online and offline stores. It sports a unibody metal design and the dual cameras are weirdly placed on the top rear of the device. The textured power button along with volume rocker can be spotted on the right edge of the device.

It sports a 5.2-inch Full HD display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 (MSM8940) octa-core processor. There is 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to additional 128GB. Talking about the dual rear cameras, there is a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor to calculate the depth of the image. As seen with the other dual camera smartphones, the user can refocus after capturing the image. It comes with PDAF, EIS, manual mode and several beauty filters. For selfies, there is a 13MP Sony IMX258 front camera with f/2.2 aperture and 79.8-degree wide-angle lens. With all these specs, the Micromax Dual 4 comes backed by a 2,730mAh non-removable battery that is mentioned to give 9 hours of talk time and lasts up to 240 hours on standby mode.

The physical home button on the front comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor. We have two capacitive navigation buttons on either side of the home button. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE connectivity. It also supports gestures even when the screen is turned off, for example, the user can double-tap to wake up the screen. Both the ZTE Blade V8 and the Micromax Dual 4 runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. With the latest Android OS, the device support split screen multitasking, enhanced Doze mode, bundle notifications, and others. Note about Rebranding:
Rebranding is not new and not wrong because a brand acquires the required licenses for a specific period or till that product is sold and this includes also taking over part of complete features. In this case its quite possible that Micromax has taken license or rights from the OEM or ZTE to sell their phones under their own branding. The problem why they are accused is that the brand has always been talking about innovation towards design and months of time invested towards the features that are technically adopted from the source itself.
