Microsoft To Tokenize Industrial Assets On Blockchain

Microsoft's russian subsidiary has partnered with waves enterprise to create an asset tokenization platform for company equipment on blockchain. Waves said both sides wanted to use blockchain for new supply chain solutions as well as for the tokenization of industrial assets. Microsoft Russia CEO Christina Tikhonova said the partnership was a push towards the country's business sector getting to grips with blockchain technology. Japan Will Include Digital Yen In Its Economic Plan

The Japanese government is expected to include consideration of a central bank digital currency (CBDC) in its official economic plan. The consideration of CBDC will be included in the Honebuto Plan for Economic and Fiscal Revitalization. The Honebuto Plan is the basis for Japan’s economic and fiscal policy and the report says the Japanese government “will consider a CBDC while coordinating with other countries”. Coinbase Lists Algorand In Its Latest Push For Asset Additions

U.S.-based and regulatory-friendly crypto exchange Coinbase has added Algorand (ALGO) as its latest new cryptocurrency after the outfit added the coin on its trading platform, Coinbase Pro, in August of 2019. ALGO is now available for trading on Coinbase's main site, Coinbase.com, as well as on the entity's Apple and Android mobile apps. US Congressman Advocates Bitcoin In Wake of Twitter Hack

Following a Twitter hack that saw high-profile accounts tweet a Bitcoin giveaway scam, US Congressman Tom Emmer told, “Bitcoin isn't the problem. Centralized control is." Twitter was rocked by what it described as a “coordinated social engineering attack” that saw high-profile accounts including Barack Obama and Kim Kardashian compromised. Accordingly, Emmer’s tweet could be seen as pointing the finger of blame at Twitter’s own centralized controls, where a single point of failure can compromise the entire system. Grayscale: Institutional Demand For Bitcoin Soars

Institutional demand for bitcoin is soaring amid the coronavirus crisis, with multi-billion dollar bitcoin and crypto-asset manager Grayscale reporting its biggest-ever quarterly inflows of almost $1 billion. New York-based Grayscale, which allows accredited investors to buy bitcoin and other major cryptocurrencies through its funds, recorded inflows of $905.8 million for its second quarter. Bitcoin Payments Startup Zap Raised $3.5 Million Fund

The U.S. Securities and Exchanges Commission revealed Zap, the Lightning startup behind a non-custodial Bitcoin wallet, has raised $3.5 million in the April seed round with investors including Green Oaks Capital and Morgan Creek Digital, co-founded by Bitcoin bull Anthony “Pomp” Pompliano. Bank Of Thailand Has Already Started Using Central Bank Digital Currency

The report by The Nation of Thailand quotes Vachira Arromdee, Bank of Thailand(BOT) assistant governor has told BOT has entered 3rd phase development of its “central bank digital currency” (CBDC) and plans to expand its use among large businesses. She revealed that the central bank is already using CBDC for financial transactions with some big businesses and it would reduce the cost of financial transactions. Zcash Hard Forked, Allows Miners To Receive Transactions In Private Address

Privacy coin Zcash has successfully hard forked in the planned network update “Heartwood”. Heartwood was supported by both the Electric Coin Company (ECC), and Zcash Foundation. With the update, miners can receive coinbase transactions right to a private address, in addition to other new features. Zcash Foundation executive director Josh Cincinnati said that users will soon be able to connect to the Zcash network using Zebra, an alternate, consensus-compatible Zcash implementation built by the Foundation.
