Microsoft released 'Focus Assist' on Windows 10 operating system that lets you turn off temporary social media email and notifications.

Microsoft is preparing a number of new features in Windows 10 that are claimed to bring radical changes, one of them is Focus Assist.

Microsoft said this update was inspired by research showing that workers easily switch focus every three minutes, due to email or social media notification. It takes 23 minutes to refocus to what they were doing.

Most of us spend 3-6 hours each day staring at the screen. Most of them are spent on social media, where distraction is so easy to make it difficult to focus, "said Microsoft.

In many ways, our attention is hijacked, and makes us dissolute searching for information on social media, and forget what we are actually doing. This attention 'war' is very real in the world of work.

Focus Assist will work as a 'do not disturb' mode. This feature can be activated via the notification center in the bottom corner of the screen.

The advantages of this feature, we still can get notifications from important people who have been set previously. People with top priority keep notifications, while others do not.

This update will be released today, April 30, 2018, as one part of Microsoft's latest update for Windows 10. Here is a video about the Focus Assist feature.
