Task 2: Telegram message from @sbamsoneu to @joslud.

Remember Mariam? At my house now. Tough girl to crack. Took a year, 20 rejections, 3 Muslim events as a Christian and a love lyrics, stolen from India film, just to win her over. My heart beating like drums for her, I can’t help it. Please, call meeting with playboys association, I don’t want to fall in love. reorientation urgently needed.

Reflection

Writing this telegram message made me feel like a baby, learning how to write and read. But surprisingly after my little research on it, people could use it to send a million words in just 50 sentences and the recipient would understand it.

I don’t know if I was able to get my own telegram message right but what I was trying to capture here is the persistence from a playboy who just wanted to have his way with a Muslim lady but along the line he fell in love. This exposes the complexity of human relationships.

My heart beating like drums for her, I can’t help it.

From this line, you can see the inner conflict within him, trying his best to fight against the love he has for her considering the fact that he’s a player. That’s why he called for an urgent reorientation.

Bottom line of this short story is that, love is a leveler. Irrespective of your status or what you believe, love has the power to humbling even the most calculated heart. Sometimes we should learn to embrace those emotions rather than avoiding it

Task 3 : Forbidden flames.

You could see the fire in my eyes as I use my fingers to glide over Miriam’s curves with exquisite precision as we make love. Unfortunately, our religious beliefs has kept us apart. Your scent still lingers and your heat stayed each time I lie on my empty bed every night. I wish I never fell in love.

I miss you….

Reflection

I’ve never had much interest in writing poem before, so, it was difficult forming a story out of it . As if that’s not hard enough, I’ve to make it 60 words. But after reading the poem over and over again, what I could understand from the poem “fire in your gaze”, it was more like someone who long for his love that has left him.

I actually wanted this second story to connect with the first telegram story, that was why I added this little love scene to make it relatable. The continuation part of this story, talks about the deep emotions and pain that usually comes up when there is hinderances from the society or religious backgrounds.

I wish I never fell in love.

This line reminded me of the good old days when I was a playboy and had nothing to worry about but now I’m filled with regrets after taking decision of giving love a chance.

One major reflection to point out here is that love is quite complicated. It’s not all the time it comes with happy endings. Sometimes it has it own challenges. But even when society forces them to go there different ways, the memories and feelings never dies. It always lingers for a long time.

The whole story from task 2 and 3 was inspired by the poem.
