Of Hope and Despair; The Rule of Darkness and the Inevitable Dawn..

in #mindset6 years ago

The most fascinating trait of the world we inhabit is the aptitude to convey the hidden truths of life in form of nature. Perhaps it is merely the human mind that labors to wreathe meaning into its own existence by sensing a pattern in the rules that govern the universe. Whatever the case, nature speaks to us with a language fathomable only to a few.

People rarely fear anything as much as they fear failure. They see failure as the finish line for all the struggle and the suffering that they have gone through to reach that point, the point where they find defeat instead of success. The truth is much more heartbreaking than this, for the truth of what destroys us is not in failure, but in despair.

Failure is like a blade that instantly pierces through your flesh and leaves your lifeless soul stranded to die. Despair is like a blunt knife that incessantly strikes you, but isn’t so powerful as to destroy or put you down. At the end of the day, everyone would prefer a quick and sudden failure to the idea of bearing despair and its patience in bringing you down. Despair is cunning; it moves slowly, but surely. In its most powerful, despair will shackle your soul to the deepest depths of existence, chained in an eternity of regret, waiting for an end in the darkness.

Do not fear failure. Fear despair.
Despair is a mistake. A simple mistake. People who do not have the light of hope in their hearts are people who have allowed themselves to predict the future. No one can predict the future.

The sequence of events presents us with an infinite possibility of outcomes, and in terms of real math and science, the likelihood of those outcomes can never be calculated with surety.
In the words of Patrick Curry, “Despair is for people who know, beyond any doubt, what the future is going to bring. Nobody is in that position.

So, despair is not only a kind of sin, theologically, but also a simple mistake, because nobody actually knows. In that sense there is always hope.”
Backtracking to what we said at the beginning of the blog post, is the idea that nature supports this assessment in a profound way. Life is a cycle of comings and goings, one of pleasure and pain, and one of darkness and light.

It is hard or even impossible to see the light in the darkness of the night, and what keeps us going is the promise of dawn. The dawn will always come, and with it, the dominion of light. Now you begin to see that while the first approach with despair is ludicrously unreasonable, hopefulness always triumphs in the laws of nature and the universe.

Those who live with the light of hope do not lie to themselves, but also prevent themselves from falling into the trap of ignorance and mistakenly predicting a future that can never be foreseen. For these people, hope is not positivity, but a fuel for their endeavors.

The most important thing that you need to understand is that sometimes we have to do things that we don’t like in order to achieve things that we yearn for. In order to succeed in this struggle, we need to employ every asset we have to make that job easier for ourselves. The path that you have set before your eyes is one of darkness, and you will need the torch of your soul to successfully chart your way through it. Have faith, for the fire of your passions will burn incessantly at the heart of that torch to endure the weight of the journey.

My goal is to see you all with 80 upvotes and for this we need to bring more people with positive Mindset to this blog and this you can do by inviting people who follow you on your blogs and making a subtract of all posts.

You all know the goal we can reach.

People who do not have the light of hope in their hearts are people who have allowed themselves to predict the future.

That's true. Unfortunatelly, some predictions, when based on empirical and in-you-face evidence come true. Of course, some people keep the flame of hope lit, even in the face of disaster or just run away from it to avoid harm.

20 years ago some of my friends and professors left Venezuela because they anticipated that with Chavez getting so powerful and popular Venezuela would go back to the caves era. Most judged that assertion an exageration. Time proved them right. Now millions and desperately trying to leave at a time where simple things like getting a passport has become impossibilities and when border countries have started to restrict entrance of venezuelan migrants.

We may not be able to predict the future but some tragedies can be read in the incipient marks their perpetuators leave at the onset.

Of course, if everybody goes desperate and leave who is going to fight the criminals?
It may be the case that political and humanitarian tragedies are put to an end thanks to the hope some people kept, but if that hope is not accompanied by effective actions no much can happen. Unfortunatelly, those who hope can not always act and those who can act are not always willing to (unless they are offered a good deal, then their humanity gets activated).

@hlezama, Those of us who remain here in Venezuela, we hope that everything will improve ... despite the increasingly difficult scenario ... every day we fight for our families, with dignity and with much effort ... because our faith is that soon Venezuela will be free and we can build a better Venezuela. That has to be our hope, to keep fighting every day and not letting ourselves be overcome by the bad diagnoses that we find every day.

Hi, @blessed-girl. I agree, we have to be hopeful. I think we all have been (even the ones who have left because most of them are just waiting for a change to return). Very few people are happy out of their countries. Many people are having a really tough time. The only thibg that keeps the going is idea of coming back home. So, yes, we all have hope, but it is a hope that fades at the daily confirmation that these evil people seem to have the better allies, the upper hand, the super powers that make them invincible.
They do the most outrageous things and nothing happens to them. In other wountries presidents, ministers, governors, majors have even been killed for nothing. Here they seem to be exonerated of everything.

I really regret what happens in your country, but just like a community you are a nation and you must stay together to change this deplorable situation as soon as possible. Regards

Thanks. People have tried to stay together, fight together. But it has become one of those movies where you don't know who are the good guys or the bad guys. Every day we are betrayed by some politician who was playing double agent. the average citizen can't just bring the government down. Small groups can't either since they have been beaten, arrested and even killed in the streets. So far, getting the majority of people together (which would render the army useless) has been impossible. Every person is thinking of their individual survival.

@ranggayusuf, I have been working very hard on this blog since the beginning. I have a very busy life but I am giving my best and believe me I have shared experiences that I have been coaching thousands of people and I know that the change of Mindset should be daily, read the previous posts. I am already grateful to see you giving upvotes to each other and you can see this with the fact that many already have 8, 9, 10 upvotes. In order to grow this community you can contribute by giving resteem the posts and inviting your friends to join us all. Regards

Despair is something that does not let you think and act correctly ... when acting under desperation, any thought will be wrong and will lead us to situations that may be worse ... the best thing is to calm down a bit and then calmly, analyze the situation in order to make a correct decision ... with the hope, that it is the motor that moves every human being to achieve what is proposed each day.

Thank you for this post you have inspired me to find these words. “When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. For this reason the block chain and Steem can only succeed, a victorious economic revolution.

Thank you friend!

Hello,

I joined the STEEMIT community yesterday. So I am very new

at blogging. I have posted one blog in my account,
and the content is somewhat similar to yours. Your use of various
aspects of nature to show a cycle between hope and despair is highly
commendable. However having suffered for a long time with depression,
and anxiety despair and finally having had found a way out of it,
my approach to self help is somewhat different. I will be curious to
know your comments about my post. I am still trying to figure different
aspects of the community rules of the STEEMIT system, but I hope to catch up
soon. I have tried many self help methods that are available in USA,
and none of them had worked for my symptoms of low esteem, depression
etc. For so many years I just could not get going on demand,
procrastination was the order of the day.
Just doing the daily chores was very hard for me. Now I am beginning to
find out that working hard doesn't have to be a struggle, does not
have to be a medicine with very awful taste. Things can be different,
but the process of transformation takes a long long time, and it is a
journey that never ends. I don't want to sound like a party pooper,
you will forgive me if I do. But I know now that it is possible to have
less and less load on my heart, on my atma ( soul ). Looking forward
to your comment on my posting.....

Thanks.

I enjoyed the imagery in your descriptions. I saw this post as whether you have the will to live or not, and the kind of mindset you have. I don't believe you should fear despair, but learn how to fight it and possibly conquer it with hope if it happens to you.

A fantastic piece which cuts to the core and definitely leads us to look for those specks of light, which once discovered and opened up wider, can reveal our path and guide our steps.

Despair and fear are like twin brothers since they get along together. You can overcome them with hope , will power and confidence, assumed to be the triplets!!

Nobody can predict Your future.your future is in your hand...

despair is not only a kind of sin

I can understand the temptation of despair; but, the sin becomes giving in to this emotion.

Fear is not of God (2 Timothy 1:7); and despair is a tool of satan to douse the positive Holy-Ghost energy built in, to see past the darkness.

hope is not positivity, but a fuel for their endeavors.

Yes! Where there is life there is hope (Ecclesiastes 9:3).

the fire of your passions will burn incessantly

As an unquenchable pilot light, even in the windiest storms it can’t be extinguished. You are what your passion is. Too often people are manipulated to go down a wrong path by well-meaning people…aka family and friends.

Great post!

Peace.
