Separating Your Work Space and Your Bedroom Matters if You Want to Get Quality Sleep!
Hi again, dear Steemians!
Quality sleep is an important factor of how well you perform in your job.
In the current landscape of the human society, people do not get enough sleep, and what’s more distressing is that the little sleep they get is mixed with anxiety and distress.
The average person sleeps 6 to 7 hours every day, that is if they get enough time for themselves. Imagine a person who has to work 14-hour days.
That person does not have enough time to dedicate to himself, thus he takes time from his much-needed sleep.
But it doesn’t matter how much you sleep, so long as you make sure it is quality sleep!
When you are swamped from working hours on end, sleep is a sanctuary you can retreat to and slowly revive yourself to continue working. But scientists claim that to get quality sleep, you need to take care of certain factors.
One of which is your bedroom. Your work space should not be your bedroom, because your bedroom is a shelter that you go back to when you are tired.
Psychologists have confirmed that when you enter your bedroom, your mind hits relaxation mode and thinks that it is time to rest.
This can adversely affect your productivity, as you can easily get drowsy and sleepy if you work in your own bedroom.
When we are working during the day, a chemical called Adenosine builds up in our body and when you find a physical comfort zone, that chemical compels you to go into rest mode and try to relax, waving off the weariness you have gathered throughout the day.
Being in this mode can cause you to lose focus. That is why when you try to study in your bed or perform a task on your laptop while lying down, you begin to feel tired and suddenly feel the urge to just leave everything and take a nap.
One of the other problematic things about working in your bedroom is that there are too many distractions that you will have to constantly deal with.
As your bedroom is a natural comfort zone of the mind, it is easy to be distracted by urges that you may not get in an office.
You may feel like watching TV or listening to music, but these are all distractions that come with working and performing your tasks in the bedroom.
If you want to experience more productivity in your work, try to change your routine and leave your bedroom. It is even better to perform your task in the living room if you have no other place to go, because being in the bedroom is the greatest challenge to one’s mindfulness and productivity.
When your mind starts to mix up the time to work and the time to rest, your body will refuse to give you the quality sleep that you deserve.
By working in your bedroom, you will reduce the quality of your sleep. In this sense, it doesn’t matter if you get 4 hours of sleep or 10 hours of sleep, because when our shut-eye time is not quality, we will not be revived from the weariness of the day.
Separate your work space and your bedroom to boost your productivity today!
A BIG HUG!

This doesn't apply to me. Only rich people have bedrooms! I haven't had a bedroom in over 10 years. Before then I only had a bedroom once or twice in my life. Bedrooms are for spoiled rich people just like panic rooms

I only live in one room too. But when I'm working I'm on one side of the room and when I'm sleeping I'm on the other side of the room and keeping things as dark and quiet as possible. I don't know about being spoiled, but I would be glad to have a second room to sleep in. But right now, I am so tired by the time I go to bed, that I do not notice my surroundings anyway.

A sound sleep is required for everyone to get relaxed and bedroom is the place for that. I completely agree with you that working in bedroom is not productive. Though I don't have TV in my bedroom as it disturb me in my sleep.
I have TV only in living room and have separate room for work and study. In my working room only limited things are there so that i don't get distracted.
Nice post @chbartist

You are absolutely right quality sleep really Matter. In this bussy life we have look after ourselves for that it is necessary to get a quality sleep. But we have to separate our working time and rest time so we can set combination with these two things. If we work full day or our office time so we have to work at that place whare is no distractions because if we work in bedroom which is a comfort zone then we cannot be productive. So it is necessary to do right things in right place. Same as if we want to sleep then we have to use our bedroom.

Very true, each thing in its place and a place for each thing ... as indicated by @ronel ... greetings!

In a study, participants felt sleepier during the day after taking a nap, and a study showed that taking a nap for half an hour or less Promotes brain function during the day, while long nap negatively affects health and restful sleep. Some studies have shown that people who take regular nap during the day do not suffer from sleep disturbances at night
I have a home office but I tend to move over to the bedroom to spend time with the family but mostly for my extracurricular work like Steem and other ventures. I try to limit my job to my office and home office as I agree it can become overwhelming to bring into the bedroom.

Excellent post. I have always worked from my bedroom and I think it has impacted my sleep in a negative way.
Currently working on an office room like this article suggests. So we'll see what happens!

This is great. A sleeping place is a quit place compare to a busy place. Surely, it needs to be seprated. People at times usually mixed this up
