Getting over pain and hurt

Often in our lives, we are hurt and broken by the deeds of those we love and care for. This pain that we sometimes feel in our heart is one of the few certainties in life. During these trying times, we often lose focus of who we are and our self-value plummets into nothingness. It feels as though nothing can make this heartache go away

One of the greatest attributes and one of the greatest flaw’s that we have as people is emotion, it can drive us on to greatness or it can destroy us into an image of our former selves. When we do get hurt, what we do with that pain and suffering is the greatest choice we would ever have to make.

You could allow that pain into your life and wallow in self pity and sit on the sofa, covered in blankets, eating ice-cream while crying your eyes out, or you could take that pain and use it to fuel yourself into doing something productive, be it as small as going to the gym and improving your self-image to yourself or something as great as starting up your own business. Learn to love your own company and you’ll start to see how everything else around you becomes inconsequential.

Time does heal wounds, but only if you let it. Don’t let whatever you feel make you into a bitter person. Don’t stoop down to levels that are below you and seek revenge, it’s not worth it, even if at the time it seems like a great thing to do, it would not fulfill you as a person and would only serve to lower your image in front of others.

Always keep things classy and know that you are blessed and loved by God and those around you!
