Is Your Wisdom Slowing You Down? Thoughts on How To Communicate by The Vegan Entrepreneur

Being smart is great. It's an important skill if you want to get ahead in life. And because it's a highly valued skill, the majority of people are just not as smart as you are. It's important to understand that. Being smart is special. That's the whole idea and why we call it 'smart'.
If everyone was smart, it wasn't smart but it would be normal.

But is there a way to be too smart for your own good?
Yes, there is. The ability to inspire and get results is often what makes the difference between the ones that make it and the ones that don't.

The ability to simplify and explain ideas so you don't only sound really smart, but also get your message across in the most effective way, is a skill by itself.

When you explain something and it sounds complicated, you might look smarter but is that what you aim for?
The ability to make the other person feel smarter, more secure and confident, that's what is making a difference. That's what drives results.

Being a great leader, coach, role model or just someone to look up too is all about making a connection. Giving people the ability to understand a concept because you simplified it.
You made them aware and helped them understand.

Medical professionals often speak to their clients in a way that is very hard to relate too for the client.
It creates authority for them and makes you doubt, feel insecure, lost, and often you leave without understanding a word of what they told you. Recognize this feeling?

Being smart is not about showing how smart you are but instead, it's about the ability to get your message across and achieve the results you desire. Everyone is smart in some area of their life. Everyone knows more about something than most people in the world. It can be sports, it can be law, it can be life, it can be everything.

Don't try to make a good impression and show off your wisdom. Write, talk, communicate in a way that makes the other person feel smarter.

Making other people smart will make you look smarter.
