A new Mining Project: Startup

in #mining7 years ago

What a Good Weekend for Crypto Currencies and Miners!

Well this is my first post on Steemit… I created this account for the Mining Project me and my partner started (I’m Dries and my partner is Stephen). We living in the East side of Belgium close to the Netherlands, Germany and Luxemburg. I want to start writing about our startup project, the experiences, the losses and wins, but also to start a discussion when there are new altcoins on the market. What are we mining, what systems and hardware are we using and so forth…
Well first off we started about half June when all Crypto Currencies reached their peak. We bought our first rig with 3x NVidia 1070’s KFA2 and also 3x Snipers versions of the 1070’s KFA2.

Well that was maybe our first mistake... We had a lot of software crashes/issues because we had 2 different GPU’s configured on one RIG. But the profit was so high for mining at the time we got overconfident and bought our 2nd RIG with 6x 1060’s KFA2.

Well this RIG is running smoothly. They are very silent and generate less heat. They are difficult to overclock but give a very constant. Immediately we changed our setup with shelves from Ikea.

There was so much to learn from trading till mining and everything else the crypto world offered. We’ll come back on our experiences in time. But the market went a different way and not everything looked profitable… Well we didn’t lose trust... We believe in the 1ste place in Ethereum but have been mining many different miners and coins… Well yesterday we had a chance to take back some profit and prepare for the Energy Bill after 3 months. In the last weeks we tried some Pump/Dump groups but made a loss and we kept the coins. Bitcoin reached its all-time high and is still going strong today so we cashed in those coins. Now we can prepare for future invests. I must tell you Belgium the Energy price is pretty high compared to most countries. We are logging our electricity with the Data Logger from Voltcraft with a SD-CARD memory for 6 months because we are just mining in one of our homes for now… I have a free Sauna at home now. I think I’m prepared for the winter ;) ….

At this moment we are Mining Signatum (SIGT):
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2030529.0
signatum.png
Fair launch of Signatum with unique & intensive skunkhash raptor algo. No premine, no ICO, no dev fee, nothing! Just fair mining and no GPU miner delays. AMD and NVIDIA GPUs with OpenCL supported as of now. Do not expect bounties from the devs or admins as no premine allocated. If the community wishes to help then please setup pools or additional explorers and few extra nodes as we are limited by our resources. Note for GPU miners: Start off with 9 or 10 intensity and mine few blocks first to see how it goes for you. If you feel your hardware can go high then safe intensity would be 15. Try not to go above as it might cause a GPU / driver or system crash and you lose time and rewards. The miner supports multi-GPU.

The profits keep rising for this one and we will keep an eye on it when it will be listed on other Exchanges. At the moment you can trade it on Cryptopia. (https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Register?referrer=Dnsg)

Next Plans are more security, Data Server on the running PC’s and MasterNodes.

Tell us your experiences or let us know what we should do in the future/present.

Thx for your sharing.

Keep up your mining and tell us your progress.

Interesting to hear how is your profit growth

Thanks will keep the news coming..

Really interesting post! Looking forward to read more of your project :)

thank you Gaelle.spaas!

nice! Good luck out there. Check out Claymore Dual miner - if you aren't already using it, it's probably the most profitable miner.

Thank you for the recommendation. We have been using it but the last days signatum is doing well for us.

Thats a lot of GPU boxes. What are your power costs like per kwh?

It's 8-9€c per kwh for the electricity. But the use of the electricity networks has also to be payed which is costlier than the price of the electricity itself...
Totally the price per kwh comes around 24€c/KwH.
