Burstcoin is the world's first cryptocurrency that can be mined using your free HDD space. That's right. All that free hard drive space can be making you money!

Burstcoin is very cost efficient, and requires very little computational power to mine. No need to set up expensive mining rigs with multiple graphics cards or expensive ASIC miners which will become out of date sooner than they arrive at your house. Because of its low computational resource requirements, you can mine in the background while making virtually no noise. Even devices like the raspberry pi can mine burstcoin now!

So now you know why you should mine burst, now let's talk about how.

First, you will need a wallet. The official wallet is currently the best option, as it has all the tools you need to start mining. Create an account, and make sure you write down the details and store them in a safe place. Next, you will need to generate plots. In the bottom area of your wallet, there is a button that says "Write Plots". Choose this option and select how many GB you want to plot. The more you choose, the more you will earn. This will generate "plots", or the storage space used in the mining process. This will take a lot of CPU power, so be patient.

Next, you will need to use a faucet to get a few burst to set up the pool. The wallet will have some up to date faucets that you can use. Once you have claimed burst, click "start mining", near the write plots button. Select which pool you want to mine on. One good pool is http://burst.lexitoshi.uk/. Select it in the dropdown menu, and copy the address that it gives you. Next, the wallet should direct you to the reward assignment page. This is where any blocks that you find will go. Paste in the pool's address, also on the pool page, and enter your wallet password. Wait 4 blocks for confirmation, and your miner should start producing deadlines and sending them to the pool.
