Minnowbooster : Sell Your Vote to MB for SBD! Upvote Bot Market (UBM) Revealed!
Hey there, @techblogger here with a brand new update letting you guys know about an exciting new feature now available on @minnowbooster.
Did you ever wish you could transform your Steem account into an upvote bot and earn revenue? Well now you can...and without any coding knowledge! In this article I will show you how to sell your voting power to @minnowbooster and receive valuable SBD in exchange.
How can I sell my vote to Minnowbooster?
As you may already know, @minnowbooster is one of the most versatile Steem services currently available. It handles everything from delegation requests to upvote requests.
After our most recent update to Minnowbooster, Steemians are now able to add their Steem accounts to our Upvote Bot Market (UBM) and sell their upvotes to @minnowbooster customers for SBD. After adding your account to @minnowbooster our bot will now be able to use your account's upvote power to vote on a customer's post. Of course we believe in reciprocity, and this is why @minnowbooster will send you your earnings for allowing us to use your upvote in SBD. It's that simple!
Note, only accounts with a vote that yields 0.03 SBD can be used on our Upvote Bot Market, this is roughly equivalent to a 150 to 200 SP sized account at current market prices of 1 Steem : 1 USD. As Steem prices rise, smaller accounts can be used.
How much can I earn from selling my upvote?
You can expect to earn around 50% of the total value received from your upvote and we can promise you a minimum of at least 25% of your total upvote value yield. However, keep in mind that this number may vary depending on the voting power of the bot and if stealth votes are used.
More simply put, we pay you 75% of what we receive from customers who pay for your upvote and you also earn curation from the votes you make, because your account is actually doing the voting, not @minnowbooster.
All earnings get accumulated in your balance on minnowbooster.net and are redeemable instantly to your Steem account on demand.
Here is a quick tutorial designed to teach you how to use our new feature:
Step 1. Go to https://minnowbooster.com.
Step 2. In the top right-hand corner, click "My Account." Then, click "Login."
Step 3. This will redirect you to a secure SteemConnect login page. Log in, as shown below.
Step 4. Now that you're logged in, you should be taken back to MinnowBooster's site. Click "My Account" again, and this time click "Edit Info" as shown below.
Step 5. You'll see a screen like the one below. Click the checkbox "Sell your vote...":
Step 6. After doing that, click the link that says "You need to authorize the bot..." in purple. You'll be taken to a page like this:
Click "Continue" and then log in with your Steem active key or master password.
Step 7. After logging in, you should see a "Success, your operation has been broadcasted" screen.
Close the page, and go back to MinnowBooster.com. Click "My Account", then click "Edit Info." Make sure everything was saved properly (if not, simply fill everything in again). Lastly, click the Update button.
Congratulations you are now registered with MinnowBooster's vote selling feature!
How does Minnowbooster select an account and use their voting power?
Every time @minnowbooster needs additional power to upvote, @minnowbooster will select a registered account and use it to upvote a post.
You can also set your Voting Power stop-loss on the slider provided so that your vote will only be used if you have more than say 70% VP available, for example.
We believe the new Upvote Bot Market (UBM) feature will allow Steemians to benefit from their voting power and receive a much desired passive SBD income which they can use to further power up their account or spend as they see fit.

What I wonder is: the massive use of bots will not destroy steemit? Slowly but surely will make the platform less credible. If I have no faith in the upvotes then the platform will seem fake and people will ditch it. Youtube had this problem 7-10 years ago and it messed up with their advertising model. For steemit there is the same sort of legitimacy problem. Think of it as a programming arms race: clever programmers circumvent the system, but youtube has a legion of nerds too.
Costant battle.
Steemit is small and vulnerable. It may survive, it may not. I think of steemit as an experiment.
Many of us are using bots and contributing to the ROT!

YES! This is my ideology. Steemit is based on moving accurate and worthy posts to the public view. What happens when bots start upvoting random, unworthy posts
this situation is kind of similiar to how Google has been dealing with spammers so they can used as an example for this. For them a vote is a link, the more of those you have the more like you're to be on the 1st page. So, they implemented ways to make sure it's not just about links (votes). They created ways to make sure that content is also good by looking different factors like original content, lenght of content, weight of the votes (what used to be pagerank) or here could be whate followers/votes and random manual review if some flags come up. The same can be implemented here with bots and time goes by they can become a lot more sophisticated. I see steemit becoming its ecosystem with its own complex search algorithms they can take rewards beyond 7 days with news way to earn them.
This is interesting comparison, it's hard to implement it in the "system" of steemit... so we need the community to make sure that this happens. but....
Speaking about search.... steemit has one of the worst search/filtering system I've seen in a (social) website... we need a better search... probably a website like google that is offchain (for faster searching) and has as many filtering systems as possible (by user, by multiple tags, by content, and by images)
yeah there's still a lot that needs to be set up but that's what's so exciting about being here now. It's being there when the top internet sites were poping up but being able to learn from their mistakes

The most discussed post on steemit are the post discussing the platform unless and until the platform delivers value it will die
It is amazing in the sense that it moves and circulates possibly stagnant steemit power but on the other hand, does it just apply upvotes to possibly unworthy posts and with a multitude of bots, it may perhaps push unworthy blogs to the hot page.
For the user who wants quick money, it is a genius idea. For the actual steem community is it the best thing ? Still on the fence with this decision
So eventhough minnowbooster got 2.5 million delegation and constantly voting everything with preposterous daily 6SBD or something. Correct me if I'm Wrong ? You guys still want to buy people's vote for what ? to empower your voting power and business ? It is a quite greedy move to increase public hate to upvote bots you guys upvote ratio is too high and it pollutes the system. At least if you are really determined to continue this nonsense I reccomend you to create a decent and complicated curation projects instead of empowering your business.
I don't think minnowbooster is helping any new users with this program. It makes abusing the system appealing and I don't think it is quite good for the distrubition of wealth in steemit in long term.
I would really want to see you guys using your voting power on some decent curation projects instead of this.
We have big plans for limiting abuse of the bot and are currently in contact with multiple big curation projects to learn from their experience.
While we don't have all solutions at once we are trying to improve our service gradually and are thankful for your feedback! We are already doing a lot more than other bots for limiting abuse and spam to the system. We watch for cheetah flags and we have a blacklist where spammers can be put on so we refuse service to them. While that does not prevent abuse, it certainly helps it from growing overboard and we hope other bots employ similar measures.
If you have any ideas on how we can improve, I would love to hear them. If there are lists of known abusers you can share, we can add them. If there are signs someone is spamming that don't lock out genuine users, we can detect them. If we are actually able to do it, chances are high we will. We are working with steemcleaners and willl work with other groups who try to keep steem clean of spam.
To the general question if voting bots are good or not for steem, that is not for me to decide. Currently there is a huge discovery problem with steem and bots provide a means to promote your post. I am always happy to discuss improvements of the steem ecosystem and try to fuel the discussion on how we can improve botting and how we can prevent bad bots. Please mention me in posts about that topic should you write one :)
I think you should look @steemcleaners posts if you don't already. Those highlight posts not to support and it will help if no bots do. I wrote a post about that a while ago. Steemcleaner tells you guys what is "bad" but then I went and looked and found a lot of those posts with bot support only! I think if you guys get off those it would be a good step - not just you but all the bots.
At least this is a way to circulate some of the revenue. I will buy votes as I can until my posts are over $10 - then I just let the post payout. At least with your votes, I don't feel like such a loser. I put them on during Day 6 when I do, so they aren't on my feed too long.It helps me and my voters and puts some cash into sp easily. I see no downside and I'm glad you guys are doing this. Get more people to invest because many of them are wasting their voting power as it is.
People buy upvote, but those upvote don't pay for himselve in most cases. @minnowbooster upvote 17$ for 17$ transfer. After a week people get 8.5 to SBD and 8.5 to Power. they have less and less, and eventually have ZERO.
This is autoclining system. It produces and kills problem. Poor get poorer, rich get richer.
Can you back up that you got $17 for a 17 SBD send? That is something that should not happen. We don't allow 17SBD currently and it was probably more like a 9SBD send for a $17 upvote.
If you really got such a vote, show me and I refund you the difference between what you should have gotten and what you got.

Can you give me more info where you heard this or what vote did not work? Steem is really weird and stuff like this can happen so I want to find the user and compensate them. Generally we try to give you anything from 1.5 to 3 times your send as return so you are always in the green after curation is applied. If steem price changes the upvote value changes too and that can be up or down.
I often see that upvote less than 2x from what people send

I guess Minnowbooster is the best service you can get in Steemit. This is good for people who do not upvote a lot and there Steemit Power just sits and doing nothing. Using it you can passively earn SBD.

Hi, I have a doubt. How do you plan to regulate the consumption of Voting Power? Because I have subscribed and what I see, is that the consumption of my VP is really fast. I put a limit close to 60% and I do not know when it reaches that limit, how does the bot work?
Simple:
• You say us what voting power is your minimum (you set that to 60%)
• We require you to have more voting power than the @minnowbooster account
Should one of these two constraints be violated, you will be skipped when looking for a voter. That means your voting power will likely recover until you pass both criteria.
So if you want to sell your vote as much as possible, set your limit to 20% or so. That way we use your vote as much as we feel comfortable with.
If you for example only want to sell excess voting power over 90% and never dip too much so you can churn out big manual votes for the posters you love, then set your minimum to 90% and we will skip you once you get under that limit (be it by us using your vote or by you using your account normally).
We can't give you any information on when and how often we use your vote as that is out of our control. When someone sends us a request and your account is the best fit (and passes both VP criteria) we use it. If not than not.

I do not really know how the algorithm works, but I think it is not convenient for me to configure my VP close to 20%, since it would be generating much less profits and therefore, I would be generating less profits for myself. Maybe I'm wrong and you can correct me.
My problem is also that I'm a curator of the Spanish-speaking community and my account already votes post from my community.
I think the most convenient solution is, if I see that the bot of minnowbooster, consumes very fast my VP, I will manually deauthorize it and when I retrieve VP, I will re-authorize it. I do not know if there is any problem with that? Can I authorize and deauthorize the bot manually, when I want?
Technically for your earnings it does not matter if your voting power is at 100% or at 50%. We pay you for what we take and that is directly correlated with the amount of voting power we use. So 1% voting power gives you the same amount of SBD at 95% or at 65%.
You can always deauthorize (or just flip the setting on minnowbooster.net) both work as on/off switches and are under your control.
If you want to retrieve voting power or keep voting power over a certain level, I can really suggest you use the voting limit. You currently set it at 61% so once your account is at or under 61% we stop using it.
If you manually curate, maybe setting your voting power limit to 80% can be a good idea. That way you can make big votes and still make use of excess voting power.

If you notice yourself manually disabling and enabling the bot all thee time, please tell me why and we see if we can automate that so it fits you.
Just as a heads up: Currently your voting power is under your set limit of 61% and we automatically stop voting with your account until it gets over that 61% again.
You can always change this limit to what currently works best for you and we will honor it.

Just one suggestion. The slider to adjust your voting power limit, is great feature , but you have to add a percentage, because from the slider alone I cannot put the exact percentage that I want.

Hello, @minnowbooster! I think this service of selling one's votes to MB might be a good one. It will eliminate production of spam content by Steemians. However, it might make whales, orcas and dolphins to vote less for minnows and redfish. My question is will one get the SBD instantly, if I decide to sell a vote or one there will be a waiting period of 7 days?
