MinnowBooster has a New Feature: Renew Lease

in #minnowbooster7 years ago (edited)

Have you ever wanted an easy way to increase the length of your lease?

Maybe renewing it by 1 week but getting the value of 4+ weeks? (150 SP per Steem instead of 75 SP per Steem)

Or maybe a way that you can delegate through MinnowBooster repeatedly without always having to wait 7 days for the cooldown?

Well, there is one now.

Introducing: Renew Lease on MinnowBooster

As you might have noticed - there is a new Button on the minnowbooster.com user page.

When you click it - you will be taken to a page which looks very similar to the standard lease page, but with a few customisations.

First of all - the only field you can edit is the amount of weeks. The rest of the values are locked in and can't be changed.

There will not be created a new delegation which would mean an additional waiting period of 7 days for the delegation giver.

Rather, the total amount of weeks is simply getting increased through the amount of steem you send.

Take a look at the gif I made.

By clicking on "Renew Release" you will get redirected to "steem-connect".

Simple, right?

Manual Transfer

Now. Some of you might not want to put their private keys into steem connect - while I do it myself - I can understand the scepticism. Luckily, there is also a manual way - similar to the way you start a lease.

Just fill out the "weeks" field and click on Renew Lease.

After that, you will see a page looking like this.

Now simply open up a new tab - and go to your wallet and open up a steem transfer.

Paste in everything that is shown in your previous "transfer" tab.

Make sure that you only have the word "renew" - a space - and the "Delegation ID" in your memo.

You can also find it in the url while filling out the renew-lease form.

And that's it. Easy, right?

But what if ...

.. someone renews their lease - but the delegate giver doesn't want that?

The answer is simple: the delegationer always has the ability to cancel the renewed lease. In that case - the user who leased it will get a refund of their steem in proportion of how much leasing time is left.

I'm really proud to say that this is the first feature which I implemented with help from @reggaemuffin into MinnowBooster.

But this is only the beginning. There is a lot of very cool stuff coming to MinnowBooster - even a Browser-Extension. But ... psst.. @Raycoms :P

Do we have to renew it before the lease period expires? If no, what is the time limit by which we must renew after it expires?

You should check out smartsteems delegation market at https://smartsteem.com/delegation_market

And to answer your question - you have to renew it before it expires because otherwise the delegator gets the 7 day lock-in period and then there is no more renewing.

You offer it cheaper than minnowbooster? At the moment minnowbooster is working great for me!

Yes we do. That's fine - do what you feel best with :)
