RE: [Beginner guide] MinnowSupportProject - From Minnow to Dolphin to Whale, with the help of a great community

in #minnowsupportproject7 years ago (edited)

Hey, thanks for this. I followed the guide, and had the bot upvote one of my posts. That was very cool, but I'm not clear on what all's involved.

Can you answer these questions for me?

  1. What is the SteemVoter "Vote Power Percentage" about? How does that work etc? I didn't see anything in the SteemVoter FAQ about "Vote Power Percentage".

  2. How long is the wait time until you can have the bot upvote another post? Does this depend on something?

  3. After I sent the bot the $upvote command, I saw that I had 36 upvotes from all these users. Did the bot cause them to all become aware of my post, and upvote it? Or were all those upvotes due to some kind of automated process?

  4. I'm only seeing an "upvote" channel, and not an "upvote-resteem" channel. Has the channel been changed to only upvote posts now?

Thanks for your help with all this!

Sure, no problem.

  1. On Steemvoter, you can set a vote power percentage that you want to use to upvote every new post of a certain person. E.g. if you set it at 100% you will upvote every new post of that person using your full power. If you are new, your voting power is low and you can set it at 'high' (i.e. >50%). Once you have gained more power, you can decrease the percentage in Steemvoter.
  2. 12 hours. So you can upvote twice a day. You cannot influence it.
  3. Automated. These people follow the bot via Streemian and upvote any post that is upvoted by the minnowsupport account. This was the original setting, however now people delegate Steem Power to the bot and you do not have to set-up Streemian (but you may, if you want to).
  4. Correct. This has just been changed this weekend. The channel has never really been intended to auto-resteem posts. It was originally created to be a promotion channel for your posts.

Thanks for stopping by and see you around!

Thanks for replying my friend. I also realized that the #support channel is a place to go for help, if anybody else has questions.

Take care!
