Soundbites 4
In a perfect world, a mistake is not a mistake even if it is made to look like it is. Accidents are not really accidents and errors and bugs are not really errors and bugs. These things happen because they are part of the calculations of the computer all this is running on. Also, it actually makes the world richer experientially. Most of us could probably throttle the guy who programmed all of this, but at the end of the day, mistakes, errors, bugs, what a trip, man. It’s not reality, but it does stimulate us. So, it’s worth remembering that no human being has ever put a foot wrong in life. Sensitise your mind and it is completely obvious that this is so. Try convincing a programmer that all the bugs they work through are a part of the simulation and he’s not gonna be two impressed, but think about it. What would programming be if you just sat down and pressed all the keys in the precise order, no apparent typos and so on, no apparent mistakes, no apparent bugs. It’s like yawn. It enhances the experience to have those things in there. Ultimately, when you program a computer, you are in a perfectly ordered stream of consciousness and if you are really honest with yourself, you will admit that the computer program has a life of its own beyond what you were perceiving it as. You are not the instigator of the program, you are the conduit through which the code flows from ‘somewhere else’ or in the case of an author, the words flow. Your job is to become a clean conduit and in a world of shit and obfuscation, that is a herculean task.
Think about that, you are not absolutely rich or absolutely poor, you are relatively rich and relatively poor.
There's no absolutes at all in life. Everything is relative and that's really hard to get to grips with.
One day we will accept that dying is forever.
Even a long life is a short life we need to learn that.
This world has been built with brute force. Why? Because there was no other way to do it.
It's difficult facing up to how things really are. The process makes people ill.
When you realise that the world is supposed to be weird, suddenly it all makes sense. It's weird cos it's supposed to be. Hard as it is to accept and doubters won’t believe this, but all behaviour makes perfect sense even if you or I can’t see what that sense is. Put it this way, the computer can see what the sense of it is and everybodies life makes perfect sense.
Telling the truth, um, huge problem.
People whose greed has left them lost and confused don't understand that those of us who understand the world better understand it because we have earned the right to understand it through our privations. Indeed it does take a lot of privation to get access to the sense of it in life.
