Post Topic:Returning to Steemit so I can write

Hi Steemit Community! This is the sixth post in the "Learning to Steemit: From One Newbie to Another" series. Today I would like to start by saying I am back. I was active in the Steemit community about two years ago, but for various reasons I have not created a post for over two years.

Firstly, I would like to say that it is so good to be back. Although I have not posted for two years, I have often thought about the Steemit community during my two year hiatus. Once you have connected with the Steemit community you will remain connected to the community for the rest of your life in some way or another.

The part I have missed the most about the Steemit community is creating content. When I first joined the community it was during the big crypto boom and everyone was researching the latest and greatest coin to invest in or trade. I myself have never really been into trading crypto currency. That being said I have actually never been into trading shares, bullion coins or any other asset. I am someone who likes to commit to something for the long term, to watch value grow over time. I guess you could say I am more of the tortoise and not the hare.

It was so nice to return to the Steemit community and to revisit my blog and read some of my previous posts. Some of my previous blog posts are definitely better than others. Some posts that I made in the past were not done for the right reason and focused solely on getting some quick upvotes rather than actually creating interesting, informative or fun content for the community to consume and enjoy.

This time around I am going to be taking a different approach, this time I am not going to be chasing the quick upvotes or trying to write content about the latest trends or fads. I am going to write about things that I am passionate about or that interest me. If my writing and my interests garner some readers who enjoy my content then that will be a bonus.

Life is too short to not focus on what makes you happy and what brings you joy. I am someone that loves to write, I am someone who loves to collect gold and silver bullion and I am man who loves his family. Writing for me is a creative outlet that I have enjoyed since I was in school. I remember in English class we had to write a journal every week. The expectation was that we would write a couple pages about our week. I used to just get lost in my writing and ended up writing page, after page, after page. I have always had the desire to write a book, but until that day comes I am going to focus my efforts on sharing my thoughts with this community.

To anyone who is new to Steemit, if I could offer you any advice, take your time and find your niche within this community. If you are truly here for the long term to enjoy the community, then just like in any community, get involved. Create interesting content that people enjoy reading, read content that interests you, and comment on other people's content to let them know you appreciate their contribution. Be genuine and be supportive!

I look forward to interacting and engaging with Steemit community, drop me a line and say hi.
