EVEN NOW - a new song I wrote about the raising of Lazarus
I am writing some new songs for a musical about the Apostle Peter and here is one called EVEN NOW about the raising of Lazarus. Martha said in John 11 "Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died; but EVEN NOW I know, that whatsoever thou shalt ask of God, God will give thee. Jesus says to her, Thy brother shall rise again."
Despite Lazarus being dead 4 days she said EVEN NOW. What faith!! It's an encouragement to us that nothing is impossible even though it may look like it. All will be well in the end and if it is not well then it's not yet the end.
The lyrics and music and performance are by me Robert Young. God bless you. The illustrations are by Maia Walczak
Even Now - Music & Lyrics by Robert Young (c) 2015
When Lazarus died, all the people cried
All hope was gone and death had won
The stone was rolled before the tomb
His sisters hoped that Jesus would come soon
So Jesus came but it was much too late
After four days dead there was no escape
But Martha said, Jesus whatever you ask
It will surely come to pass
Even now, even now, even now, even now.
So they showed Jesus where Lazarus lay
Jesus wept before the stone was rolled away
Jesus prayed and cried, "Lazarus come out!"
And the people saw him and started to shout
You are the resurrection and the life!
You are the resurrection and the life!
He that believes in you will never die !
though he were dead, though he were dead
Even now, even now, even now, even now, even now, even now.
