North Korea: Next Missile Target Is Guam
North Korea's missile launch on August 29, 2017 seems to be the beginning of more Pyongyang military operations. The next target will be directed to Guam, the US territory located in the Pacific Ocean. This was conveyed by the North Korean media, Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
Pyongyang said it fired a mid-range Hwasong-12 missile in a test yesterday.
This triggered tensions between North Korea and the United States and its allies, Japan and South Korea. Because the missile is crossing the northern region of Japan and fell in the Pacific Ocean in the east of the Land of the Rising Sun.
"The launch is the first step of operations (the North Korean military) in the Pacific and a meaningful introduction, in which Guam is included," KCNA wrote as quoted by CNN on Wednesday (08/30/2017).
"Pyongyang will do more rocket launch trials, with the target being the Pacific," the media added.
In early August, the North has threatened to make the territorial waters around Guam a target of its missile tests. But Kim Jong-un decided to postpone the move and chose to observe the US Maneuver.
In response to a North Korean missile test on August 24, 2017, US President Donald Trump said all options to respond to North Korea's actions were open. According to him, Pyongyang's behavior is a real threat.
"The world receives a message from North Korea loudly and clearly, this regime has given a sign of humiliation to its neighbor, all members of the UN," Trump said in a statement released by the White House.
"The threats and actions that cause chaos will only make North Korea isolated from all countries in the region and the world, so all options are on the table," he said.
Earlier, Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe were furiously communicating over the phone. The two will agree to take action and put more pressure on North Korea.
