🔹Kamaru Usman Is A Problem
Kamaru Usman Fails To Back Up His Big Talk
Kamaru went into this fight saying he's the scariest welterweight out there and that he's a problem for the division... and I agree he is a problem. Here we have yet another dominant contender who is failing to appeal to the fans.
Kamaru controlled Meek for the entire fight pretty much but was really either unable to finish or just uneager to finish. His wrestling and grappling are so dominant and his slams were beautiful, but for whatever reason, he just didn't finish. To make the claims that he's been making you need to be able to finish, he needs to work on his ability to posture up and ground 'n' pound or improve his ability to submit people on top.
That's the problem with these dominant wrestlers when they absolutely nullify their opponents but seem to do nothing with it, it comes off as boring to the fans. This is something Khabib counteracts very well by just constantly ground 'n' pounding. His fight vs Barboza could've been extremely boring but Khabib kept busy. The same can't be said for Usman.
Overall a dominant performance, but Kamaru failed to deliver, and I agree with Dana that comment at the end made absolutely no sense. For those not familiar Kamaru said that he only gave 30% in this fight, which is just ridiculous. Why only give 30% and look unimpressive, the welterweight division is currently wide open, now was the time t make a statement, not give it 110% not 30%...
So what do you guys think of Kamaru?
