Revive the American Dream
Many adults today grew up during the Great Prosperity, and so they think that's just how things work. But I grew up during the Great Regression, and it's Clearly Not just how things work. Please, let's bring back Prosperity for everyone.
I think part of the problem is automation, which will be on an upward trend, there's just no way to reverse that. All sorts of things will just become more productive, more stuff will get made faster and easier. But that doesn't have to mean that wages remain stagnant, it doesn't have to mean that people have to work harder and harder just to keep their faces barely above water.
Learn about #mmt. The Federal Government of the United States of America is tasked with supporting the well being of the people of this country, By The Constitution! The Fiat Currency, USD, we use is created out of thin air, it is Not based on Gold, nor is it based on any resource or Work performed. The Government simply decides to spend money on something and orders the Federal Reserve and the US Mint to produce the necessary funds. Not one cent of Federal taxes pay for a single thing the Federal government does. Stop calling things "taxpayer funded", unless people who pay taxes are also Separately funding those things by choosing to Donate to them.
For instance, PBS takes donations as a major part of its funding. When you or I give them money, and also happen to be tax payers, that means PBS is Taxpayer funded, because we are Taxpayers, and we are Funding them. But PBS is not funded, by even one cent, by Federal taxes.
Therefore the Federal government can decide, at Any Time, to simply fund whatever program or system will help the poor, disabled, and elderly, Without having to first, or even subsequently, raise taxes. #FairTax would ensure that all the money being pumped into the economy eventually comes back to the Federal government, Without any onerous, harmful system enforced by IRS armed goons!
So, in conclusion, I say we should all realize that MMT means that the Federal Government has Unlimited funds with which to help us all, and that we can, And Should, eliminate poverty and unnecessary suffering in this country, and that the income tax system should be replaced by Fair Tax. By doing these things the super wealthy would bring back all their money, spend it back into circulation, thus causing Currency to do its actual job of completing the circular Current from Issuer back to Issuer of the currency, and everyone would benefit from being free to pursue their dreams and enjoy life, rather than struggle forever merely to survive. Revive the American Dream!
