Proposal for Monetization: Allowing Third-Party Banner Ads on steemit.com

in #monetizationlast year (edited)

As a well-wisher of this website, I would like to bring to your attention an observation I made while looking at the monthly traffic stats of steemit.com on websites like similarweb.com. In January, February, and March, the website received an impressive amount of traffic, with 4.3 million, 4 million, and 4.5 million visitors respectively.

I noticed that steemit.com does not host any third-party ads on its pages, and while I may not be familiar with the technicalities behind this decision, I would like to suggest considering the option of allowing third-party banner ads on all pages of the website. This could potentially generate a significant income for the site, which could be used to incentivize loyal steemit users or invest in further improving the steemit community.

One advantage of these ads is that the revenue model is not solely based on Cost Per Click (CPC), but also includes Cost Per Mille (CPM), meaning that income can be generated even if the ads are not clicked. With 5 million impressions, there is potential for substantial earnings, and I am confident that there would be a significant number of clicks as well.

As an example, one ad network that I have personally used on one of my blogs is Anonymous Ads or a-ads.com. Please note that I am not affiliated with this company in any way, and I am not using any referral links. I simply suggest exploring the possibility of hosting these banner ads on steemit.com to see the results.
