Our Financial System is Fundamentally Corrupted

in #money8 years ago

With all the complex and numerous ways our financial system is failing us on an ongoing basis, it might be easy for newcomers to get lost in the discussions of precious metals, cyrpto-currencies, and alternative systems that will become more and more necessary as time passes.

Let us not forget the core reasons why the system is corrupt and will ultimately fail.

There have been hundreds of paper currencies over the centuries. Almost all of them are now worthless. The average age of an unbacked paper currency is only 35 years. The current US Dollar system is older than that.

For a fiat currency to be properly run isn't a long term possibility, but it's a Utopian ideal. It's something people can honestly strive for, perhaps under the leadership of a particularly skilled and disciplined individuals. In such a situation, perhaps for awhile, the amount of paper currency can be kept in check, and the value of the paper currency can be upheld.

This however, can't be maintained forever.

The nature of mankind, and the nature of the world we inhabit is imperfect. Crisis arises, wars breakout, disease makes it's mark, corruption and envy festers and grows in the hearts of men. These pressures can't be removed from the environment we exist in, and when those pressures come down upon those in charge of the currency, given time they will in the end choose the path of least resistance and debase the paper currency by printing.

In such a way we've allowed paper currency, once just a convenience for us in commerce, to become our slave master.

Literally the only thing holding up the modern system today is ignorance of the indisputable statements above. So many people believe the money they work for day after day is a sound store of value for their efforts. Even a casual inquiry into the value of the US Dollar, much less the currencies of lesser powers around the world would reveal this assumption to be false.

For those more sophisticated who understand this, they might instead insist that the currency is being managed for the best interests of the American people, not only that, but also for the security of the entire world. This argument too, is beginning to ring more and more hollow as time passes. This is just short term thinking.

While hundreds of millions of people struggle daily to earn depreciating money just to live, trillions in bailout funds are handed to failed elites who deserve to lose everything they have due to their own poor decision making. They receive money at the expense of those who have made the right choices, so we maintain their incompetent leadership, while starving and limiting the best among us who could lead us to a better age.

Our current financial system has only one purpose, not to maintain order or stability, not to help the people. It's sole purpose is to maintain the entrenched interests of the existing elite, whom have already failed and don't deserve the power they have.

Would there be pain in any given transition to a more honest system? Undoubtedly. This pain however is unavoidable and with each passing day and each flawed stop gap measure enacted, the pain we will ultimately have to suffer increases. Those who believed the lies about the safety of their pensions and savings, the value of their stocks and bonds, the soundness of government social security systems...nothing we can do at this point can make those false promises whole. Pretending we can only prolongs the suffering, and allows the failed elite to suck more blood for another day, month, or year of undeserved high living.

I don't simply disparage those who have more than others, inequality will always be with us, but those who have more than others simply by manipulating a corrupt financial system don't deserve what they have and represent the greatest barrier to a new age of prosperity based on actual hard work and merit. Until these parasites are driven from power and cast aside, we cannot move forward as a species.

All it will take is a small percentage of the population and savings in the system waking up to this truth and moving into the alternative systems emerging of precious metals and cypto-currencies to bring the ponzi scheme of the existing system crashing down. If you are reading this, you are probably among those who already know this well. If you aren't and you still have paper assets in the system, you need to get it out while you can.

No political party, no election, no protest can bring an end to the current system, but strangely a relatively small number of people moving a few notional digits of value out of the dying systems and into the emerging systems can. Not only will you be protecting yourself by doing so, you'll also be striking a blow against the worst kinds of injustice inflicted upon people in our age. The easiest way to be a hero who fights for justice today is to dump the dollar and the other phony paper assets that back the corrupt entrenched powers that lord over us today.

Payback is a bitch, and you don't need to be Rambo to carry it out, all you need to do is press a few buttons, and move yourself and those around you a little bit further away from the financial lies we are told today, and towards the truth that can bring us a better future.
