Beware of Internet scams
There is a simple belief I have "if it seems too good to be true then most likely it is". Lately I've noticed there are more "get-rich" schemes all over the Internet. I've also noticed these are targeted at the younger generation be it students or young professional. We all want to get rich and live the good life but at the same time there are people out the seeking the same thing but from stealing from honest hard workers like you and me.
Here are few tips from my side:
- If the say the offer is only valid for today... Walk away. This is a classic act now or loose out scam. This tries to take advantage of your fear of loosing out. Most fear based marketing tactics are used by scammers.
- Do your research. The same Internet that provides scams also provide a ton of information on those scams. The trick is to not look for info that will prove the offer is true but that it is a scam. Use words like
"scam", "warning" and "complaints" when doing your research. There are people who have been caught by the scam and are kind enough to offer informstion warning people. - If it's too good to be true then most likely it is. Yes there are secrets shared by the wealthy how to make money but these are shared by the wealthy amongst the wealthy not to us mere broke people. So do not expect someone to share how they make tons of money with you, think about it if you knew a quick way to make money would you walk around telling people just to help them also make money? So why would a rich Good Samaritan do that if its not to steal your money.
- No one can give you lottery numbers, no soothsayer or fortune teller can predict the lottery. If they could why would they share these numbers with you instead of using them for them selves?
Think twice... Do your research and take your time before investing. If the offer is there today it will be there in a weeks time. There is no super receipe to make allot of money except hard work....
Good tips!!!
