You need a side hustle

No, i am not talking about a little no strings relationship, i am talking about creating another stream of income on the side. If you are employed or self employed then that is your main source of income, however, you need to start creating multiple sources of income.

A side hustle is a great way to achieve another stream of income. Even if you earn a small amount of money from your side hustle, this will be beneficial.

If you hustle hard enough you could turn your side hustle into a full time hustle, or simply use it as extra money to save, invest or pay for general day to day living. If you are unfortunate enough to be in debt then a side hustle is a necessity. Making extra money is never a bad thing.

Lets dive in.

CHOOSE YOUR NICHE

If you are going to have a side hustle then it probably makes sense to create that hustle around something you are interested in. Doing this will add motivation and you will be much more likely to hustle after your day job if it is related to something you find enjoyable.
Is there a market for what you want to do and can you earn money doing it? You could do something simple, like drive for Uber on the side because you already know there is a market and money to be made. Research the niche and figure out if you can make money.
Do you already have a specific skill set? If you do, then put it to work. For example if you can already do graphic design then start designing things for people. If you can already cook then start cooking for people. If you can cut hair then cut peoples hair etc. You may already possess skills which will let you easily create your side hustle. Figure out what you are good at and how to earn money doing it.
Be time specific. If you already have a hectic life and work plenty of hours, then doing something on the side which also takes up a lot of hours probably isn't practicable. Your side hustle has to fit around your schedule but you also have to actively commit to it. Don't go through your day in a wishy-washy way otherwise that's how you go through life.

EARNING POTENTIAL IS LIMITLESS (in certain areas).

This may sound like a bold statement but it's true. The earning potential from a side hustle really is limitless, depending on what you do. Yes, i am aware that if you cut hair or mow lawns as a side hustle then you are only limited to a set dollar amount, however, certain side hustles have no cap on earning potential. For example if you are a blogger or online tutor then you aren't capped by a set dollar amount per hour. Decide what it is you are trying to achieve and build your side hustle round it.

Perhaps you do want to create a scaleable business and build a brand or company slowly, or perhaps you need cash there and then so take the 'side job' route and get paid for your services. This is entirely up to you and your needs.

YOU HAVE TO MAKE TIME

Putting in a long work week and then having a hustle on the side can be draining, however, you need to focus your mind and put in the effort. I don't buy the people who claim 'i just dont have the time'. Absolute bollocks. Everyone has the same hours in the day. How is it that folks like 'The Rock' can be up at 4am to work out, be on set all day, work out again, work again on other hustles and still spend time with his family? It's about time management, drive and effort. You simply have to decide what is important to you. Spend less time looking at your phone screen, tv screen, on your couch and in your bed and trust me, you will have time. The term ''i dont have time'' is just a cop out for lazy people who don't really want it.
If you really want to be time savvy then schedule your days before hand. Write a 'to do' list and set about accomplishing it. Alternatively you can outsource certain tasks which you may not necessarily have to do. Get yourself organized and get rid of time consuming, mind numbing tasks which aren't helping you.

Getting a side hustle is for sure one of the best ways to earn extra income and if you are passionate enough and driven enough, you could well one day be in a position to quit your job. That is a real possibility. The goal is to not be so dependent on your regular job.

So what are some examples? Here is a quick list but the options really are endless:
Drive for Uber or Lyft.
Mow peoples lawns / do garden maintenance.
Maintenance / decorative work on peoples homes.
Cleaning.
Use a specific skill you already have: Cutting hair, personal training, writing essays, proof reading, plumbing jobs, electrical jobs, build furniture etc.
Build a website / blog.
Affiliate marketing
Sell products online via Amazon or your own online store.
Make video courses and sell them online.
Teach people how to play an instrument.
Tutor people.
Learn how to trade.
Search for jobs on sites like Craigslist and do the odd jobs.
Buy and sell stuff. Buy stuff in thrift stores and sell them online.

So there are a few but open your mind and get creative.

Hopefully this has been useful for some of you guys.
