How To Make Money Online Lesson #1. My Story as an Internet Marketer of 5 Years.
Yesterday I promised to write about how you can make money online doe yourself, so here goes.
But before I get into it, I thought I’d do a quick post explaining the ways I’ve personally made money over the past few years, with a very brief explanation of them all. In the coming days I’ll continue with the series looking at each one of the below topics in depth.
So here goes.
1. Affiliate Marketing.
This is where I got my start in the make money online game. I created a website and promoted health products like Acai Berry Supplements and Bodybuilding supplements. I guess in my first 6-7 months online I made about $1500-$2000 profit which is pretty good for a newbie. What’s more, I did it with mostly free traffic.
I had no clue how to make a website so I taught myself Wordpress and built a site using nothing but tutorials off YouTube and learned how to create effective sales pages from YouTube and online articles. Yes my friends, you need to be very resourceful if you want to make it.
Affiliate program are everywhere, and whenever you go to a webpage selling products you’ll often see a link at the bottom that says “Become an affiliate” where you can apply to promote their products. Other than that there are plenty of affiliate networks out there to suit all your needs. Just Google it and you’ll find plenty to go at.
2. Information Products.
I produced around three or four information products like PDF’s that I sold on my websites for between $7 and $17, plus a series of video trainings that sold for $27 about Facebook advertising. As an affiliate I learned FB Ads and then started to teach others. If you have a website it’s super easy to produce a PDF or a few videos sharing your knowledge on your chosen subject or skill.
The extra bonus with this method is that you can also build a email list of anyone who buys your product, and then follow-up with affiliate offers by email. I made a lot of money from email marketing to my buyers. Owning a list of buyers is more-or-less the Holy Grail of internet marketing, and for good reason. There’s big bucks here and you never need to pay for traffic again.
3. Amazon Associates.
Most people probably don’t even know you can make money off promoting Amazon products. Well I’m here to tell you that you can and it’s easy. Google Amazon Associates and sign up, and you can grab your own unique affiliate link to any Amazon product, and you get a commission if someone clicks your link and buys something.
You could literally make money in the next few hours if you do this by recommending a Kindle book or low priced product to your Facebook audience or on Pinterest.
I have a Pinterest page devoted to a certain fitness product that I personally use. So using this method you don’t even need a website. In fact if you go down the affiliate route you can make money just from Facebook Fan Pages and Pinterest.
4. CPA Marketing.
CPA means “”Cost per action”. It’s basically earning money just by getting people to fill out their email address and submit it, or download a game or app from Google Play or the App Store. Sure there’s plenty more offers like getting people to sig up for free trials or sign up for dating sites, but these are typically very tough to get right.
Although I made money with CPA, I would hesitate to recommend it to newbies. It’s really hard to do well with this one. CPA is perhaps the hardest thing I ever did online. However, I will cover this in case anyone is interested.
Please keep an eye out for the next in the series were I’ll go deeper into number one off the list - Affiliate Marketing.
