A Lesson About the Morality of Money

in #money7 years ago (edited)

Some people say that money is evil. Especially in the church. People believe that rich people are scumbags and anyone with a mass amount of wealth are just self absorbed. The worshiping of money is the evil aspect. Those that worship money are most likely miserable, but those who use it for good leave a legacy on this earth. Money is used as a means to create change in the world whether it is in your life or in another's life. Before I continue I want to point out that I got inspired to write this by listening to a podcast on iTunes called "The MFCEO Project." I highly recommend it to anyone who is self-motivated, driven, or looking to make a change in their life. Now back to the topic...

I grew up in a home that was built on principles and morals. My father grew up as a poor child who, like everyone else's father, "walked up the hill for 2 miles in the snow" to get to school. But my father was different than most people. At the age of 16 he bought his first rental property with the money he made painting homes. At the age of 21 he started a construction company that he still owns and operates to this day. He is 61 by the way. The values and principles he used to create his success have been passed onto me and the one thing he always preached to me was that "life is not about money, but it sure makes it a hell of a lot easier and make sure you always give back."

The only people you hear saying money is evil are people without money. This is not a personal shot at anyone so don't take it that way but I believe I make a point. It's our duty to take our gifts God has given us and use them for good, aka, create wealth and change lives.
