Pretty patterns that don't bite. I scour the woods for similar bits of felled trees to make light fittings, or fixtures, as some say. Such decorative.

I can imagine there are many possibilities out in the woods. You should show us some of your "makes", though I have seen your gorgeous vine sculptures. I have a real thing for homemade light fixtures/fittings.

Here's a quick and sloppy photo of a small one I made:

Lampje1.jpg

I hate drilling long holes in curved wood. I learned that much. Have you made any?

That's one ultra nifty lamp. The Edison bulbs really add a lot to the art. I've made a few lamps from found materials, but not wood. I used to peruse the local metal recycler's for cool objects. Blows me away how many really incredible things are dumped, sent out overseas, then bought as raw metal. Makes no sense, and so many are SO cool. And they can be expensive too. So not many are acquired. I have a solid brass cannon thing that's planned...just have to get to it. Luckily it has no curvy drilling's. Wonder if they make a flexi bit? Never heard of one. Thanks for sharing your artworks. Is that somewhere illuminating the vine sculpture?

A steerable drill bit. Hm. It is being done in oil drilling, I think, maybe they could miniaturise it.

And yes, it is, how did you know?

Very nice textures in the close-ups. If you got much closer, you could have added "Macro Monday" in the mix :-)

Ha haa, I'll keep that in mind for the next round. I like that, how many post-points can one combine into one. Hmm. Glad you enjoyed the photos, they were fun to take.

@ddschteinn You have received a 100% upvote from @steemguardian because this post did not use any bidbots and you have not used bidbots in the last 30 days!

Hello old Steemit friend. I feel it's been decades since I've comment chatted with you. So many things going on in our lives as well in the crypto digital world, but I'm still here, hoping each day that Steemit still stands. Like a war refugee going to the same spot each day, hoping the structure is still there and you can get a good chat and a hot cuppa.

Some of these photos make me think of my beloved Loucst trees at my old house on cape cod. I love those trees, their bark is amazing and in early summer they have the most wonderful flowers that scent up the whole place.

I hope all is well with you.

Hello dear SteemFriend, I agree, it feels like years. I miss our long discussions as well. I was traveling, and had little access to posting, commenting and voting. And even more importantly, missing my ultra-cool keyboard that allows for easy, pain free typing. Large sigh here.
I'm certainly hoping your idea so well put stays afloat, the continuance of this wondersite. I truly love it on here. Keeping our fingers crossed double on that one for sure. I hope to get back to more regular posting and other SteemitStuff very soon.
Also so glad these photos took you back to C.C. Those heady remembrances are powerful stuff. How boring would be life without them. They can make you dizzy at times. All is well here, and I hope it is in your little slice of the world too. Stay warm and dry...its supposed to snow here tomorrow. Yee haa. Cherio(s) my friend

Ah! Great idea and good combination between Monochrome Monday and Tree Tuesday…

The barks in close-up are very amazing. They look even more beautiful in monochrome photos.

The Lemon’s Park in your last photo is my favorite.

Great shot! ;)

Glad you enjoyed them. Trees and such look so different and good in BW, at least I think so. It's nice too you liked that last photo. It was cold out there....the wind blows HARD in Kansas, about 60 mph. It was FREEZING. Well, hope all is well in your corner of the world.

Yeah! I totally agree with you, “Trees and such look so different and good in BW”, indeed!

Um! I think....I’ll send you HOT air from here to keep you warmed. Perhaps, you may send your COLD air to me in return…. ;D

Please always stay warmed until my hot air can reach you! ;)))))

That should work...I'll send you a box of our cold, you send me a box of warm air. I will try to stay warm, but it's hard, the heaters work overtime sometimes. I have a pellet stove in my house, do you have those in Thailand? I'm guessing not, since it's so much warmer most of the time there.

Yeah! That’ll work, for sure!

No, no need to have a pallet stove in our houses, we don’t even use heater here! In contrary, we use air condition (cold) to release us from the heat outside.

Yes, it’s too warm most of the time here, as you guess! Many boxes of cold air from you would be much helpful! Ha ha! ;)

Ahh, Mon Skillet Domestique, those are some barktastic photos of the arborrific kind right there! Well played:)

I was so super happy to see a dd post roll through my feed, your excellence has been missed.

Ahhhh, thanks so much, mon ami, so glad you enjoyed the arbolphotographica, and in such glorious descriptives as well. I have been traveling a bunch in the past month, so have been MIA more than I like on here. Things are getting back to some semblance of normal in life, whatever that might be, so hopefully will be on here more now, I miss it, and all of my buds. Despite the lack of massive earnings these days, which I've never really been a part of anyway, I still love this site and will be on here as long as possible. It is great fun, isn't it?!!! Well BrareKat, hope all is well and you are happy and only as busy as you desire to be.
Cheerio(s), The PanMan de' Horizintaale

Oh! You have been traveling! That is like the best excuse for being gone ever! I do so hope it was fun travel, and not traversing for reasons macabre or medical. Those paths are less fun to ramble upon.

This site is super great fun! Truly, I will be here for the long haul too.

Hope your domestic cookwareness will be present in these parts more often and stuff, I have to make this missive a bit shorter than our norm because I need to go craft some homemade pizza to feed my horde. Talk to you lateron as ya say:)

The Kat-tastrophe

I'm home now. It's SO nice to have my special keyboard and all the rest of my ergonomics to write on. And time, after almost a month. Travel was not at all trauma based, just fun. I was visiting the HH family in Arkansas, Texas and then Kansas. A lot of fun, and a LOT of van riding on my part. I hope to do a post or two on it. Really need to get more done on here in all parts. Finally should be able to. I love travel, but it takes a toll on the posting, talking and voting. I miss it when I'm 'out'. Such a fun site fo shuu.
Hope your Sunday is good. Cheers my friend.

YES!!! Each is truly a work of art! Every one is wall worthy and is perfectly captured as a two-fer post!!! Well done, my friend! And muchas gracias for all the support!

Wow, thanks for the nice thoughts, Mon, so glad you liked my photo melange of OGP challenges. Though it's never a challenge, just a whole lot of fun. It's so great you're still doing these. I think I saw a Saturday Sepia? I look forward to it with gusto. Keep up the great works, and Full Steem Ahead.

This was a truly cool picture and so creative.. Mix monochrome and treetuesday 😉 my favorite is treetuesday... Lol
Thank you for sharing this... Really made me smile.. Beautiful picture 😀👍👌

Thanks, so glad you enjoyed the photos and my 'mix' of the two challenges. OGP has quite a few fun contests, besides being quite a character in his own right. I love his videos. Have a nice day (I think it's day there right now?) and onwards to a nice holiday.

For some reason some of the pics looked like cracked custard to me... I think my brain is telling me to eat custard... I must obey brain... ha!

Always listen to your brain, even if it means eating lots of custard...which sounds pretty darn good to me ( :
Now I'M hungry, must go eat pudding or something like it...(I don't know how to make custard, but CAN open a box of pudding...)

Exactly! Brains knows whats best for me! Right?! Ha!

Glad to see you again, small blue cat. Keep taildancing.
