For the Joy - a little background story
Last year, a short period of forced stop due to a convalescence rekindled my love for creating music after a 25 year long hiatus.
I decided to start a project called "Moods and Modes": a collection of short instrumental tracks (not more than 2 minutes long), each one inspired by the mood of a different musical scale or mode.
The project is active and documented in my website: www.skeeboomusic.com and the first result was an EP fancifully named "Mood and Modes vol. I" that you can download from Bandcamp for the price you want (even for free).
The first track I composed was "For the Joy", a happy tune where a couple of violins stroll carelessly around. The composition is inspired by the joyful mood of the F# major pentatonic (the scale you got by playing only the black keys on the piano and gravitating on F#).
A great deal of inspiration comes from the creative improvisational method "Pattern Play" devised by Forrest Kinney that I strongly advocate.
