Mother Nature has allot of Beauty to it and sometimes it looks so magical ,So, I was researching The Northern Lights a while ago and learned some interesting facts . Here's what I picked up ..

Near the north pole these areas include Northwest Alaska , Northern Canada and Northern Greenland, Northern lights most often occur during September to October and from March to April
during the night hours.
The northern light are also called The Aurora Borealis.
Northern lights form when large sun explosions and flares, have huge quantities of solar particles that are thrown out of the sun and into deep space.
These plasma clouds travel through space with speeds varing from 300 to 1000 kilometers a second (186 to 621 miles a second.
But even with such speeds , it takes them two to three days to reach earth . When they are close to the Earth they are captured by the earth's magnetic field and guided to the two poles, the north pole and and every now and again the south pole because the north pole is slightly tilted towards the sun .
So while all of that is going on at the same time, some Earth gases and particles mix with the plasma clouds making a shield, and that shield makes what we call, "The northern lights, visible. .
