Investing in your Child's Learning
We just got a new Grolier Set for our little guy, the Logico Piccolo 20. It is an activity set designed to practice the analytical skills of children with three categories, Brain Development, English and Math. The cards have attractive colors and drawings to engage the children with the activities.
Two years ago we also bought this set of Children's Encyclopedia with Webster's Dictionary included. What I loved about this is the pictures on the books were all colored real-like and the words are big enough for the children to read. It will surely get them hooked to read each page and learn at the same time.
About 4 years ago we also bought our first Grolier Set, the Talking English books with a talking pen included. I also loved this set because its pen talks when it is pointed to any word or sentence on the book. We bought this at the time when our little guy still can't talk and we were thinking that this might help. Indeed, it did. He also learned a lot from it and got him ready for kindergarten school.
Aside from investing in our child's education which is our obligation as parents, we also wanted to invest in our child's learning through these books. We believe that learning must not only come from his school and we want to keep track of how our child is learning. Most especially that our little guy has ASD, I wanted to have additional tools for him to make his learning experience agreeable for him.
But it does not really require buying all these books to invest in their learning because what matters is how we also invest our time in teaching them and being with them through any stage and phase they are on.
