Last year my son was somewhere in Spain, up a mountain with no television, no internet, plus the Spanish do not celebrate Mothers Day on the same date, apparently. Needless to say I didn't get any cards, chocolates or calls to my telephone that day. He didn't even know he'd missed the date until a few weeks later! It was just another sunday like any other; a little disappointing to have an empty fireplace and dining table. This year I've been surprised by flowers from our garden, the biggest card available, bursting open with a new pair of sunshiney socks, a reminder of our loving connection all year round. We can never have too many socks :) Oh and at least he is here at home this year, who knows where he will be never year..
