Is it good to always be good?

I have this kind of problem. The specific kind. I am always good to people. Now let me be clear this is a very harmful characteristics if you are in business.

90 percent of people will always try to take advantage of you , manipulate you and things will get bad for you. In one sentence you will get hurt. But does that mean you should not be a good human being? Does that concern you that people actually takes care of their dogs more than they take care of their partners?

No. Plain and simple. What people do is the reflection of their character. Not yours. And the only reason you get hurt is because you expect too much from everyone. Just because I behave good with someone, I should not expect that they will do the same. That is not how world works. If you are doing good because you are asking for reciprocation then you are selfish. You are expecting. The journey of my life till now has taught me one thing you are responsible for what you do.
