3 qualities you must develop to succeed
I’ve been studying success for years because I’m really curious to what extent is your brain plastic and to what extent can the brain be trained. Based on some literature and my own experience I chose 3 qualities that are essential for success.
RESILIENCE
The most important and the less appreciated quality is resilience. Imagine how many times you tried something new and how many attempts ended in failure? Imagine that you have no resilience. Every time you fail – game over, you have no other chances. We wouldn’t make it until tomorrow. Resilience is a combination of internal disposition and external experience. It is the ability to adapt and turn toxic stress into tolerable stress. And thanks to it, even if the failure hurts, you try again and again. The good news is that you can built resilience. If you hurt, suffer or lose heart and motivation every time you fail, think about working on your resilience. You can get to a point where failure isn’t considered as something negative anymore. It is considered as a lesson, an experience, a hint what not to do:)
SELF-CONFIDENCE
There’s so many books about self-confidence but I just want to remind you how important it is. If you want to succeed you need to trust yourself, you need to be sure that what you’re doing is the right thing and where you’re going is the right direction! No matter what you do, self-esteem will help you gain a greater control, be real and be comfortable with your decisions. So if you’re not there yet - move in this direction!
COURAGE
I believe that we know our weaknesses better then our strengths. And I have a feeling that courage is the ability that we slowly lose. We live in a relatively safe world, safe houses, we have safe families and jobs. We tend to stay in our comfort zones. But change happens when you break free from your comfort zone. Actually, so many good things and new experiences are born when you step outside your comfort zone. So dare yourself to take a risk, challenge yourself and your reality, go wild, imagine things that sound crazy, reach for the stars, break the rules and limits, give yourself a chance!
And I hope to see you at the top! Good luck!
Good read,
You make a great point about the importance of resilience in any endeavor. Without the ability to work through the hard times and pick ourselves up after defeat, we would not make it far.
Thanks for the post!
