Life has its pendulum swings, How to make easier
Recently, I experienced a day that felt remarkably simple and straightforward. Like any typical day, I had my usual list of tasks: I needed to wake the kids, tidy up the house, ride my bike to the co-working space, and work on a ghostwriting project.
Following that, I had to handle bookkeeping, cycle back home, prepare dinner, take the dog for a walk, respond to emails, and complete all the other activities that fill a normal day in my life.
However, on that particular day, tasks that are often overwhelming felt surprisingly manageable.
This unusual ease led me to ponder an intriguing question: what if life could be easy? This idea clashes with my usual outlook. I have always believed that life comes with its share of challenges, struggles, and even profound sadness.
Yet, because life is inherently challenging, it makes sense to explore ways to make our daily routines a bit easier. Seeking relief from the hustle and bustle doesn't seem like a bad idea at all.
There are indeed several strategies for simplifying everyday life. Here are some practical suggestions to consider.
Start by focusing on one task at a time. This can help reduce the feeling of being overwhelmed. Make it a habit to make your bed each morning. A simple, tidy start can set a positive tone for the day.
Consider clearing your calendar. If needed, don’t hesitate to cancel appointments that are not essential. Limit your time spent online; it’s easy to get lost in the digital world. Make sure to carve out time for rest and relaxation, as it is essential for recharging.
Another effective strategy is to cancel any unnecessary subscriptions. Take a look around your space and think about selling half of your belongings . Practicing gratitude can also shift your mindset.
Take a daily walk; fresh air can do wonders. Surround yourself with people who uplift you and distance yourself from those who drain your energy.
Maintain a routine of regular cleaning. Don’t let chores pile up for tomorrow; it will only become a burden later. Limit your grocery shopping to once or twice a week to avoid overwhelm.
Another helpful approach is to delete unnecessary apps from your phone to reduce distractions. When cooking, aim for meals with just five ingredients. This can simplify meal prep. Think about doing less in general.
Learn to differentiate between what you can control and what you cannot. Focus your energy solely on the things that you can influence and let the rest go. Take small steps, especially when feeling anxious about tasks.
Lastly, ensure your bike tires are always properly inflated. A simple check can save you from unexpected difficulties on the road.
While life will always have its ups and downs, I don't believe every day must feel hard. Many days can be streamlined and easier. The suggestions provided above are numerous, and you’re not required to adopt all of them.
However, even implementing a few can significantly lighten the load of daily life. Why not give one a try today?
