The power to change

in #motivation7 years ago

"This chewing gum is giving me headache", she said, as she continued chewing away.
"Spit it out if it's giving you headache" I said to her.
Suddenly it dawned on her she had the power to stop the headache, and she spat it out.

How many of us have the power to stop our headaches but are not even aware of it? We complain daily about life but we forget that lying within us is the power to rise above life's situations.
Most of the things causing us headaches are things within our power to change. For some, it is a job they hate so much, and yet they can't find the strength to walk away from it. They will rather wake up by 4:30am daily, grumble their way to work where they give less of themselves on the job they hate so much.

How many of us hate our financial state and yet we won't find a way out of it?
I had a conversation with an taxi driver some days ago and he made me realise how he was making a fortune driving after he called it quit at his bank job to drive full time.

Why do you want to keep chewing the gum that's giving you a headache when all you can do is just spit it out? Why do you want to keep complaining about that situation when the solution is within you?

It is okay to complain once in a while, but it's never okay to complain when the solution is right within you.
So stop chewing that gum, and just spit it out.

Happy Sunday to you.

Sometimes life is like that, simple solutions, though we make it look overly complicated.

Nice write up

Nice piece. Happy sunday too.

A welcomed lesson. Thanks for this

  1. It's bubblegum not chewing gum.
  2. This is a good post...but i feel there's something missing. It's not coming from someone that has or is experiencing these things...just heard or seen another experience. Even at that, it sounds cliche to me. I'll need you to be more objective in your factual presentation. Like...we all know these things, we've heard this before so it's not a new thing. Make your presentation stand out. Give a life instance, post with more photos and...just think, write and be outside the box!
